Hank Azaria 'Terrified' of Fatherhood

Joshua Roberts/Reuters/Landov

Actor Hank Azaria is anxiously preparing for the birth of his son with girlfriend Katie Wright, but The Simpsons star has one confession: he’s “terrified” of becoming a father.

“I’ve been shooting a documentary about fatherhood because I’m so terrified that I wanted to get a lot of advice,”  the actor told PEOPLE on Thursday evening at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., where he joined a star-studded cast that includes Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, and Owen Wilson for the world premiere of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.

That advice includes getting words of wisdom from those in the know, including Night at the Museum star Ben, who is a father of two.

“A lot of people have told me, and Ben has echoed, this: It’s the kind of love that you can’t anticipate and that for a man, a father, it’s the kind of love that you have when you first discover love when you’re 13 and have a crush. It’s that kind of intense, ga-ga kind of love that you hadn’t had in many, many years,” he shares.

Hank and Katie have already signed on for a slew of classes. In fact, the couple is going new age when it comes to getting ready for their new addition.

“Oh my God, we’re taking classes … hypnobirthing, where a woman can learn to reduce the pain by hypnotizing herself, and I’m her birth partner. And we’re taking a child raising class, a baby holding class, a baby diapering class, and everything!” said an enthusiastic Hank, whose baby name list is “narrowed down to two.” However, he’s not ready to divulge the top picks for “fear how my mother will judge it.”

The father-to-be is also looking forward to introducing his son to America’s favorite pastime. “I always dreamed of taking my boy to Cooperstown — that would be a fun moment I think — to the [National] Baseball Hall of Fame,” says the actor.

In the meantime, Hank is doing some baby bonding by talking to Katie’s tummy “in many voices” and playing The Beatles. “The baby likes Beatles music. We pump a lot of Beatles music into the womb,” he laughs. Hank, in his best British accent, even says that he gets “inspired to talk to him like John Lennon occasionally. He seems to like it, he gets very kicky when I talk this way.”

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian hits theaters May 22nd.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: Nothing Compares to a Mother's Love

Splash News Online

While many couples may view parenting as a partnership, first-time mom Maggie Gyllenhaal believes there is no such thing. “It’s a good effort to make, but I don’t think splitting parenting equally is possible,” she tells American Baby. According to the actress, despite working with her husband Peter Sarsgaard to “do our best to share duties” when it comes to their 2 ½-year-old daughter Ramona, Maggie admits nothing replaces a mother’s love!

“The mom is the mom — there’s something about that.”

Enjoying their life together a family of three in New York City, Maggie shares that certain aspects of the metropolitan lifestyle leave much to be desired! “I can’t lift the stroller down the subway stairs by myself, so sometimes I walk ten blocks to the station with an elevator,” she explains. As for the difficult task of transferring trains with Ramona and gear in tow, the 31-year-old says not a chance! “I don’t know why it has to be so hard,” she wonders.

An advocate of breastfeeding, Maggie encourages fellow moms to take care of themselves — as well as baby! — after giving birth. Advising new moms to drink water while they nurse, she also notes that a daily nap can make all the difference.

“You’ve just been through something that’s incredibly hard on your body. Let yourself feel scared and overwhelmed — those feelings are okay.”

Despite all her advice, Maggie says the bottom line of parenting is to simply trust your instincts. “I couldn’t make ‘crying it out’ work, but everyone’s different,” she explains.

Medela Comfort Bra: All New Moms Need A Little Support

Medela Comfort Bra

Medela’s Comfort Bra ($30) is perfect for pregnant or nursing moms who need a soft bra for sleeping. The racerback style has wide shoulder straps that don’t dig in, comes in black, white and nude, and has an easy cup release for nursing.

This isn’t a very supportive bra but it’s very comfy for lounging around. It even holds bra pads in place under your PJs! I have bought several Comfort Bras and I swear by this style.

Rebecca Romijn: Motherhood 'Makes Me Feel Whole'

Courtesy InStyle

Rebecca Romijn started her career as a model – and, following in her footsteps, her 4-month-old twin daughters have now posed for their first fashion photo shoot. Featured with her girls for an InStyle magazine spread, the actress says that Mom is her most rewarding role to date.

“Being a mom makes me feel whole and like I understand the meaning of life,” Rebecca, 36, tells InStyle for the June Sexy issue, on newsstands May 22nd. “All I want to do is stare into my babies’ eyes nonstop.”

Rebecca, who has already lost 60 lbs. since delivering Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip via c-section in December, is nearly back to her pre-baby body — but says she doesn’t worry too much about her figure.

“I’m a jeans size up from where I usually am, but there’s nothing about it that freaks me out,” she says. “I feel as sexy as I have ever felt. I’ve always said that sexy is having a really strong sense of yourself and never taking yourself too seriously.”

As for how her husband, Jerry O’Connell, is handling a house full of women, Rebecca praises him as a wonderful dad. “He’s got endless amounts of energy, and he’s having such a blast with these girls.”

Just don’t ask Jerry what it will be like when the girls are older. Jokes Rebecca: “He’s determined not to let them ever date while he is alive.”

See Kai Run Sees Celeb Kids Run in Their Adorable Shoes

Bauer-Griffin; INF; Ahmad Elatab-SaleemElatab/Splash News Online; Ramey

We love See Kai Run‘s buttery soft leather toddler shoes with super flexible soles (and their Smaller line for infants) so it’s been fun to spot all of the celebrity kids wearing the line lately! In the last few weeks along, we’ve seen Halle Berry‘s daughter Nahla Aubry lounging in her white Sara sandals ($38) and Nicole Richie‘s daughter Harlow Madden make multiple appearances (here, here and here) in her sweet red with white hearts Monica ($32) and pink Tamar ($32) mary janes from the Smaller line.

We’ve also seen both Salma Hayek‘s daughter Valentina Pinault and Tobey Maguire‘s daughter Ruby in the white Indria ($34) sandal and Julia Roberts‘ youngest son Henry Moder in the Isaac sandal (on sale for $25.50). (Ruby’s also worn the orange Raedan sandals ($34)).

As a shoe for your first walker, they really can’t be beat. Pediatricians and experts agree that the best shoes for new walkers are no shoes, but if you’re going to be in public or on concrete, you’ll want exactly the same time of soft flexible sole that See Kai Run shoes have.

Check out our reviews of See Kai Run’s Smaller line, their original toddler line and their kids line eleven (so named for the way your footprints look in the sand).
