Sun Hats Roundup: We Pick Our Favorite Hats to Protect Little Heads

Nothing says summer like a big sun hat. With so many options to choose from, it’s hard to pick just one. With prices ranging from $8.50-35, we found the cutest ones that will be sure to last you through the season.

Old Navy — Sea-Creature Bucket Hat for Baby ($8.50)
Adorned with various sea creatures, this hat is perfect for making sand castles at the beach. The pocket at the crown is excellent for stuffing small seashells into.

Purple Alex — Baby Baseball Game ($35)
These lightweight hats are perfect for summer wear but because they keep heads warm too you can wear them year-round. Plus, you can get a matching mommy hat for yourself!

Janie and Jack — Ruffle Sunhat ($14)
This hat has everything we look for in a summer hat. It matches everything, goes with outfits both fancy and casual and can be thrown in the wash with the rest of the whites. The chinstrap is an added bonus for windy days and the wide brim is ideal for protecting from the sun’s harmful rays.

Gymboree — Skull & Crossbones Reversible Hat ($12.75)
Argh Matey! This hat will make any kid captain of the playground. As an added bonus, it reverses to a second design with multi-colored skulls & crossbones.

Baby Rhys — Rainbow Hat ($30)
These bright, cotton hats reverse to even brighter colors. The wide brim can be folded up for kids who want the hat completely out of their vision.

Gap: Embroidered Sun Hat ($10)
Embroidered with a flower at the crown, this hat will turn every baby into an instant fashionista while protecting her head from the sun. The chin strap fastens with a hook and loop to ensure that it stays on.

Actually, the cutest is the cheapest one from Old Navy!
I just bought all my toddler clothing the last week, we got a litle bit of everything sunblock, hats, sandals, clothes.

For sun protection, which should be number one priority, flap happy hats are great. Especially the ones with the flap in the back that protect baby’s/toddler’s neck from sun burn.

To go with the hat, I like Blue Lizard sunblock – with no harsh chemicals.
