They make a stylish duo! Nicole Richie brings her 16-month-old daughter Harlow Winter Kate to the CNN studios in Los Angeles to tape a segment of Larry King Live on Tuesday. But due to breaking news events, Nicole was rescheduled for Thursday, when she’ll appear on the show with her dad Lionel.

Last night, dad Joel Madden tweeted, “I think Harlow is gonna be on Larry King with her mom. She has [a lot] of interesting commentary for the state of our USA. She can say UH OH…”

The couple expect their second child in August.

Alex- I didn’t see a lot of TV yesterday, but my guess would be that at CNN the Breaking News might have been the Sonia Sotomayor announcement re: Supreme Court? Although with those cable news channels even the smallest things turns into “breaking news” so who knows?

I had heard that she and Lionel were going to be on Larry King Live yesterday so I recorded it on my DVR. However, when I went to play it the breaking news was about Mike Tyson’s daughter Exodus. I will make sure to tape it for Thursday. Harlow looks sooo cute with her hair done in her little pigtails! Nicole looks lovely!

Nicole is so pretty and Harlow is adorable but I don’t get how celebs complain about paps taking pictures of their child and then they turn around and put them on tv shows and in magazine spreads. It just seems kinda pointless to complain about it and then turn around and put your child on tv. And this isn’t just in reference to Nicole, this happens with a lot of celebs

OMG! Could she be any cuter?! Harlow and Honor are hands down my two favorite celeb babies. I cannot believe how little Nicole is for being 7-8 months pregnant. I know you can’t really see her belly in this picture, but from the ones I have seen she’s so teeny. She was like that with Harlow too. With Nicole being so little framed I would think her belly would be huge because the baby has nowhere to go. I can’t wait to hear the name they pick out because I love love LOVE the name Harlow Winter Kate.

@manon and missy- I think it has do to with control. In a mag or on a tv show, the celebs can control what the camera films or photographs, how they should do it (the closeness) and when to stop. With the paps, they can’t do shit. The paps can get as close as they want and not listen when the celebs tell them to stop or back off may it be because their children are scared or not.

I’ve only heard Joel and Nicole complain about the paparazzi when the paps get too rough and scare Harlow. I don’t know that they’ve ever complained about paparazzi who are taking pictures from a respectful distance, but I could be wrong.

Harlow looks like she is growing up so fast!! So cute. I’m looking forward to watching Nicole and her dad on Larry King.

mommyof3, wouldn’t she be 7 months? If she is due at the end of Aug, and we are at the end of May you have the whole month of June, July and Aug and you are pregnant for 9 full months so months 7, 8 and 9 would be June, July and Aug. So if I am doing my math right, she is just now 7 months. Am I calculating that right? I haven’t been pregnant for 3 years now so I am not as good at figuring the months. Remember when you’re pregnant and someone says they’re 32 weeks, for example, and you know in seconds how many months they are, but right after you have the baby and a pregnant person tells you they’re 32 weeks and you just go huh? and have to stop and calculate it? My friend and I were just talking about that the other day. Hee hee.

You’re 9 months pregnant for a month before you’re due date though. You don’t hit 9 months on your due date. You are 9 months pregnant 4 weeks before your due date. That is why I am thinking she’s 7 months because the end of une she’d hit 8 months and then the end of July she’d be 9 months because you are pregnant for 9 full months. Maybe I’m wrong, that’s just the method to my madness and why I am thinking she’s 7 months. It’s not a big deal though…she still looks little for how far along she is.

Part of the problem is that we date pregnancy by the first day of your last period. You’re 2 weeks “pregnant” before you even ovulate, which is just ridiculous. You are pregnant for roughly 9 full months *on* your due date when you go by ovulation/conception. If you count by when you started your period, that’s some extra time that you weren’t really pregnant.

I personally count months the same way we count our birthdays. If I get pregnant in mid-September, I’m one month pregnant in mid-October. One full month has passed in which I’ve been pregnant. So, counting that way, 9 months after I got pregnant puts me in mid-June, which is my due date – not July. Currently, at the end of May, I’m 8 and a half months pregnant – but I’m in my 9th month. I will not have completed 9 months of pregnancy (and thus be “9 months pregnant”) until 9 months have passed after I got pregnant.

Clear as mud, right? See, this is why midwives and doctors go by weeks! 40 weeks is your due date, 20 weeks is halfway. Easy enough! But if you convert weeks to months by saying there are 4 weeks in a month (lunar months), then women are really pregnant for 10 (lunar) months. The problem is, there aren’t only 4 weeks in every calendar month.

And in any case, baby has about a 4 week window (2 weeks on either side of your due date), so it should really be a “due month” anyway. It’s all just an estimate.
