Aqua2Go: An Alternative to Plastic Water Bottles

If you pack a water bottle with your kid’s lunch, here’s an alternative — Aqua2Go ($17/case of 24). Packaged in a Tetra Brik drink box made primarily of paper, each container holds 8.45 ounce of purified water.

Personally, I prefer to use a reusable bottle filled with tap water but this can be a good backup to keep in the car, use at parties (as an alternative to juice) or for emergencies, especially since it has a shelf life of five years. Besides, drink boxes are much more fun to drink out of!

Now available at Amazon.

That’s a bit ridiculous. Nearly a dollar for 8 oz of water?

$17 for 24? That’s nuts!

My kids didn’t like the taste. They taste a little stale. and the price is a little outrages.

Bit too pricey for water!!

I was wondering if I was the only person who thought it was crazy to pay that much for water!

I agree with Leslie. The taste is gross

This seems like a lot of wasted packaging. Just get a stainless steel water bottle – wash and reuse!!

- Ana on

That is way too expensive. I’ll stick with a refillable bottle of tap water. Sorry, but this and the $75 cardboard rocketship the other day leave a bad taste in my mouth : /

The better party alternative is to fill up a big cooler of tap water and let the kids re-fill their reusable bottles if they have them or use small disposable cups. Switching from one disposable container form (plastic) to another (coated cardboard) is really not a great solution, unless there really is an emergency situation with local water.

way too expensive !!i watched a documentary recently called “Flow” about the water crisis on our planet. It will really help you realize that we should not be supporting commercial drinking water!

Not “primarily made of paper”! Danielle did not do her research before writing this. I did a quick search to find what these box containers are made of and found, “Juice boxes are typically made up of six layers of paper (24%), polyethylene (70%), and aluminum foil (6%).” 24% does not constitute “mostly paper”.

Stick to the reusable stainless steel bottle and tap or filtered tap water! Stash an extras stainless steel bottle of water in your car for emergencies!

Isn’t there a problem with packaging like this that has a silver inner lining and cannot be properly recycled?

- Trish on

I just checked this out and the $17 includes shipping…which isnt that bad given the cost of shipping these days and a case of water weighs a lot..

…..and in defense of Danielle (the writer), these boxes are in fact primarily paper (cardboard)….74% paper. Danielle even goes on to say its not great for every day use, but good as a back up for emergencies, etc!

Thank you Danielle for sharing a helpful tip! PLease keep them coming!!!
