First of all, thank you to all those who have shared such wonderful comments about Zali (pronounced like Molly with a “Z”). I don’t mind those people who commented about my age/looks (though I hope people aren’t judged by one picture)--my focus is now put into my daughter, and I’m perfectly happy in my own skin (wrinkled or not). I do, however, need to comment about those that believe we “celebs” (though I’d hardly call myself a celebrity—I mean, I don’t even have the money for Botox to fix the smile lines that everyone focuses on) are selfishly lavishing ourselves and our children. I must tell you that I attended this event to support my friend (and paid for my own plane ticket to fly out to support her) and help her spread the word for her charity called Children Play International, that helps provide crucial opportunities for children in third world countries. For nearly 10 years now, I have done charity work for another charity called Right To Play that also helps disadvantaged children and I’ve personally volunteered to help with their programs in Africa three times. Please read my article sharing the story of one of my trips: http://bit.ly/2M6YQP. And despite the lack of “celebrity funds”, I have just written a book called When Turtles Fly, and I’m donating 25% of my personal proceeds to the American Cancer Society. Yes, my daughter had fun dressing up one day at an event, but I can guarantee you that the only pampering that I received that day was the heartfelt hug I received from my friend for my help. I appreciate all of you who share the knowledge of children in need, but I hope that you are putting your words into action as well! Again, Zali and I both thank all of you who shared such sweet complements! Most sincerely,
Nikki Stone

Nikki is an iverted aerial skier, and so is Aussie Zali Steggall, who won a gold medal for Australia in 2002, I think it was. It's possible that Nikki named her daughter after Zali Steggall, since they probably got to know each other well as competitors and maybe friends over the years.

If so, the name is Zaa-lee.

Look at that gleeful baby! I myself would have choked on that much pink, even at 1 year old, but she looks like she's having a great time. Sooo sweet.

Celebrating for a day with your child is hardly selfish, Lisa. Think of the money that went to the vendors that supplied this party with the goods. I agree with Azure, if you've got the money and can afford to do, spend it and fatten up the economy!

Cute baby girl!

I'm sorry, but to see something like this lavish party for celebs and their kids makes me sick!!! How can these people spend that kind of money or be a part of this even if its free when there is so much hurt going on in the world and in our own country. Do you really think kid's care if the shirt on their back comes from kmart or some pricey boutique in LA? I remember a picture of a 3 day old newborn somewhere back east (Chicago?) sleeping in a box with a couple of dirty blankets in a apartment with broken out windows and no heat. There is no way that I would spend the kind of money that was spent on this celeb mom's day party and then sleep good at night knowing that there are babies starving and freezing in my own country and I just dropped a few hundred dollars on a princess dress for my kid who doesnt really care about the brand name or where it came from. Maybe some of these celeb mom's should think about how they would feel if its was their kid that was cold & hungry and then seeing how much a party like this cost. Where is the pride?
