Awe the Swine Flu. Where I live, Milwaukee, Wisconsin they closed down about 12 schools. The high school near me closed down during 2nd period. I had in my neighborhood about 50 kids in our playground/park. 16, 17, 18 and I’m sure 19 year olds were sitting on the swings and gym equipment. They did not move off for the little kids. The school system should have had transportation for the bussed kids to get back home. Our schools were very unorganized. Parents from all the schools were very upset because they had no place to put their kids during the day while they worked. So the school reopened. Now Wisconsin has the 2nd highest CONFIRMED cases of H1N1. But we have had no reported deaths, Thank Goodness! I personally think that this whole thing should have been thought out better! This flu was not a surprise! My brother and sister n law are both doctors in separate ER’s and they were warned back in February about a flu that is spreading very fast. So what if the flu H1N1 was not the flu they were talking about. There must be a program implemented for this very reason.
I am not convinced that the schools should have closed or remained open. Either way its scary. I hope we all learn something and be better prepared for the future.

I just think there’s too much hysteria about the swine flu. 95% of most of my college classes didn’t even get FREE flu shots during regular flu season at our health services. Regular flu kills more people than swine flu does, yet we’re freaking out about this because it’s a new strain? Won’t that make people more suspectible to the swine flu because their bodies are stressed out?
And I think that kids should stay home when they have the flu. Why spread it elsewhere if people are SO afraid of it?
