Chad Lowe Welcomes Daughter Mabel

It’s a girl for Chad Lowe and girlfriend Kim Painter! The couple welcomed a daughter, Mabel Painter Lowe, last Saturday, May 16th in Los Angeles. Though no further details were released, the couple’s rep says, “Everybody is healthy and happy.”

Chad, 41, and Kim announced they were expecting in late January. Though they kept a low profile throughout Kim’s pregnancy, the first-time parents said they were taking in all of the advice they could, including “get a lot of sleep now!”

Chad, a television actor, won an Emmy for his role in Life Goes On and also appeared in hit shows including 24, ER, and Melrose Place. Chad and Kim began dating in January 2007.

Whenever I hear the name Mabel I remember the show with Helen Hunt where she named her daughter that because it stood for “mothers always bring extra love”. Cute! And I loved Chad on Life Goes On. Congrats to the family!

Congrats to the new parents! Was sad when his marriage to Hillary Swank broke up, glad he’s found happiness again with his (now) two girls! Not sure if I like the name, is kinda cute, but I can’t stop thinking of a horse called Mabel in a book one of my kids’ had, first thing that came to mind! – anyone else the same?, such as Leo the Lion, I always do that, and always think of a Lion when I hear of Leo – nothing against the name, just what it naturally makes me think of from childhood, lol..

Mabel is my eight year old daughter’s name, and we have absolutely loved it. We recently ran into another child who’s name was Mabel. I love the old names, and I am glad they are coming back. What a relief! Congrats to the happy family!

babyboopie- I agree! I have to admit that I picture an 80-something year-old woman whenever I hear the name Mabel.

That said, I LOVE timeless, classic names. One of my favorites is Mary, as, in my opinion, it’s a timeless name that fits a newborn baby just as well as it fits an elderly lady.

I am so happy that Chad moved on and has a whole new family. For you young ones, he was more of a serious actor that played some pretty dramatic roles as a teenager and when he was in his early 20′s. I haven’t heard too much about what he is doing now, but it would be great to see him on TV again.
