Scooping up her daughter for a hug (she hung her upside down soon after!) Nicole Richie enjoys an afternoon at the park with a smiley Harlow Winter Kate on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

She’s a happy girl — Joel Madden twittered earlier today that Harlow was waving at everyone while out with him!

The 16-month-old will become a big sister later this year, with Nicole and Joel expected to welcome a sibling for her in late August.

I love Nicole and Joel as parents. I think they are great for eachother and I am so happy they have Harlow and are expecting another! I still think Nicole is due in July not August but regardless pregnancy suits her! I think Harlow’s hair is almost getting long enough for Nicole to start experimenting doing little hairdos with her! Love this family!

Harlow is adorable, she has Nicole’s chin & smile IMO. I also heard a rumor that this next baby is a boy, either way it’s going to be a little cutie. I can’t wait to hear the name!

I wouldn’t believe the boy rumor, it’s from In Touch. Also if you remember her last pregnancy, everyone was saying it was a boy because they bought blue stuff, but they had a delivery surprise. Who knows if they’re doing that again? It’s amazing how quickly these things spread.

I wouldn’t believe the rumors either. When she was pregnant with Harlow, many sources claimed she was having a boy because she received a lot of blue items as gifts. Although there is a 50% chance it will be a boy, so the rumors could end up being true.

Harlow is A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E and Nicole looks really good!! I wouldn’t believe that it was a boy, Jen and Ben were apparently having a boy too, and now they have a girl (Seraphina) who was a delivery surprise. I think I remember Harlow was a surprise, so this one might be too! Either way, I’m sure the baby will be adorable.

They are having a boy, my sister in law and niece are in music class with them and Nicole and Joel have been pretty open about it. Maybe they aren’t making a press release but it’s not a secret as far as I know. And yes she is due in August.

Wow April u really have insight…. so she has said that she is having a boy and is due in august?????? thanks for the insight! I knew she was def not due in september and I thought July for a due date but ill take your word. I wonder why they didnt want another delivery suprise! Lisa- Well, Nicole said during her pregnancy with Harlow that she would have prefered to find out the gender, but Joel didn’t want to. So maybe this time around, she convinced him to find out.

That said, I’d take April’s comments with a grain of salt. I remember someone claiming when Jennifer Garner was pregnant with Sera that they knew Matt and Lucy Damon and Jen and Ben were having a boy (right after Sera was born, someone also claimed that they knew Ben’s parents and that they name was_______. I put the_______ there because I can’t remember what they claimed the name was.).

Similarly, when Angie was pregnant with the twins, before it was confirmed it was twins, someone claimed they knew someone who worked closely with Angie and Brad and that they were having twins. Now, they DID end up having twins, so who knows. However, I highly doubt celebs as famous as Angie and Brad would allow anyone who works for them to disclose any information about them to the public.

I’m not saying April is definently lying, just that we need to realize that we need to take those kinds of comments with a grain of salt. I’m actually hoping that she WAS lying, though, as, if she wasn’t, that was a horribly dissrespectful thing to do to Nicole and Joel! She should have at least asked their permission first (even though it may seem to her that it’s not a big secret when they’re due and what gender the baby is doesn’t mean that Nicole and Joel are ready to release that information to the public yet).

In fact, in the future, I think CBB should delete those kind of comments.

I so don’t mean this in a bitchy way, but the first thing I thought when I saw this was… YAY, Nicole gets messy mom hair too! She is usually styled so, so beautifully. But with the messy hair and check shirt, she looks suspiciously like just another one of the mere mortal moms from my mother’s group.
My God, Harlow has blossomed into the most beautiful toddler. I have a feeling Honor Warren may be the same. In all honesty, I wouldn’t say they were the most striking babies in the world, but Harlow is an absolute stunner now and I suspect Honor will be the same.

Sorry, there is nothing else to say. What I posted is all I know. CelebrityBabyLover, you can choose to believe me or not but I have no reason to lie. My SIL doesn’t follow celebrity magazines/blogs at all, and when we were on the phone earlier this week, I mentioned the rumor that they were having a boy. She said, “Right they are” and told me what I posted above. Nothing more, nothing less. As I said you can believe me or not but we’ll all find out in August. No skin off my back.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. They are in the public spotlight and with that fame comes all the rumors, gossip, etc. I do not think April was being disrespectful in the least. I don’t think April was being disrespectful either as she stated that Joel and Nicole are pretty open about it and if the’re going out purchasing blue things (whether it’s a boy or not) it’s going to have people talking (and they know it)! And like she said they’re not going to make it public with a statement but telling close friend or people they come in contact with is one way of knowing that people will talk.

Anyway, to expand a little bit on my comments from last night: What I was trying to say is that yes, April DID say that they’re being open about it in the class and that it didn’t seem like a big secret. However, the fact is that none of us know for sure how Nicole and Joel feel about sharing any news about their due date, gender of the baby, etc. What I mean is, we have no way of knowing whether or not they want the media and the public to know the details of their pregnancy yet.

Perhaps they’re planning on sharing the news themselves on Twitter or via an interview with PEOPLE or some other media outlet.

Basically, I just don’t agree with people releasing details about a celeb unless the celeb has given them permission to do so.

All of that said, I owe you an apology, April. I read your post too quickly, and as a result thought YOU were the one with a kid in Harlow’s music class. I just now re-read your inital comment and realized that it is your sister-in-law and niece who are in Harlow’s class. Therefore, I apologize for accusing you of being dissrespectful to Nicole and Joel.

Also, I must confess that part of the reason I acted the way I did is because I’ve been really, really hoping for Nicole and Joel to have another girl. I can easily picture Harlow with a sister, and, I’ll admit, I just love little girls!

Anyway, I AM glad about April’s comment in one way: Assuming what she said is true (after the things I mentioned above with people saying that they knew Matt Damon and that Jen and Ben were having a boy when Jen was pregnant with Sera and such, I just can’t believe any comments like this 100 percent.), that should disspell the rumors about Nicole and Joel having twins once and for all!

That said, now that I’ve had the chance to think about this more, I’ve come to realize just how ridiculious I was being with my previous comments. I mean, if Nicole and Joel really didn’t want the public to know details of their pregnancy, they more than likely wouldn’t be sharing those details with the people in the class or in other public places!

I hope most fervently, that Nicole And Joel continue to be the wonderful role models for their children, that they are. Parents are the most important role model a child can have.

According to child experts, the best environmnet/culture a child can be nurtured in an environment that is safe, non-toxic, and routine based. From what I’ve read, Nicole and Joel are mindful of not only these three axioms, but these and more.

I love Nicole’s long, slightly wavy, slightly curly hair.
