My first experience with Nature’s Baby Organics was when I received a gift set at my daughter’s baby shower. Aria was born eight weeks prematurely and once she came home from her stay in the NICU, I embraced the idea of using natural products on her delicate skin.
Developed by a mom whose daughters developed eczema and allergies to chemicals and dyes, Nature’s Baby Organics products are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates (a bonding agent), propylene glycol and fragrance and are ideal for babies, children and even adults with sensitive skin.
The Lavender-Chamomile Shampoo & Body Wash (which also comes in a Vanilla-Tangerine Scent) ($10 for 8 oz.; $18 for 16 oz.) has a subtle, calming scent and lathers instantly. Though my now-23-month-old daughter’s hair isn’t long enough to need the Conditioner/Detangler, I tried it on my own curly hair and it left my locks very smooth. Every night after her bath, I lather her in the Face & Body Moisturizer ($12), which melts right into the skin without being sticky and is formulated from enriching organic aloe vera, olive oil and calendula extract. I’ve also become a fan of the preservative-free Diaper Cream ($12), made from sunflower, cocoa butter and castor seed oil and enriched with soothing Vitamins A and E.
Other products in the Nature’s Baby Organics line include the Organic Baby Oil ($11), which — unlike many baby oils — isn’t made with the mineral oil (a petroleum by-product); the “PU” All Purpose Deodorizer ($12), which comes in Vanilla Tangerine or Lovely Lavender scents and is a natural alternative to chemical-heavy Lysol; the Organic Soothing Stick ($10), perfect for treating dry patches or chapped skin; and the Ah-Choo Chest Rub ($11), made from eucalyptus and tea tree for relieving sniffles and congestion.
