Michael Kovac/FilmMagic

Former 24 actress Marisol Nichols helps 7-month-old daughter Rain India — who we haven’t seen since she was only 11 weeks old! — stay steady on her feet on Saturday at designer Trina Turk’s In Style Panel Discussion, held at The Red House Interiors in Los Angeles, Calif.

Dad is Marisol’s husband Taron Lexton.

Rain wears Stride Rite Kids’ Cookies n Cream Tod/Pre in Ballerina Pink/Multi ($33).

Aww, Rain India is such a cutie!

Wow, she’s so fair!
Does anyone know if she calls her “Rain” or “India”?

- Leah on

aaw! she’s so cute! what nationality is Marisol? Rain must look like daddy! she has amazing features! I love her blue eyes & red hair! she’s gonna be a knockout!

Leah- I was wondering the same thing! Its really confusing since the title says Rain, then the jump says India! hmmm… she is adorable though!

Whoops! Our mistake. Fixed now.

I thought that Marisol was playing with a friend’s baby or something…would’ve never known she was her daughter unless I read the caption! Rain must look just like daddy!!!! She sure is a cutie ;)

I just did some research and Marisol is mexican & hungarian. I saw a pic of Taron and Rain looks just like him! I was surprised because the darker genes usually dominate. This baby is gorgeous just like mommy & daddy!

i cannot believe this cutie is her daughter! she looks absolutely nothing like her!

Why is this always an issue.

The darker genes do not always dominate.

My husband is half Puerto Rican/Italian. His mother could pass for African American. I am Armenian(Medittereanean). And our daughter is quite fair.

- Ani on

She doesn’t look 35. Maybe that’s why her husband is 11 years younger. ;) Their daughter looks just like daddy. Cute!

- Chris on

Is her husband European because the baby doesn’t look like mom, but she is adorable. I wonder what her husband looks like because Rain takes after him.

- Agnes on

My complexion is really similar to Marisol’s. I have black hair and brown eyes and my daughter has golden hair and fair skin…someone once asked me if I was her nanny :S
It’s funny when I was pregnant everyone was expecting a black haired baby…My husband is blond by the way…

If you click on the link in the post that says “we haven’t seen her since she was 11 weeks old” it shows a pic of her husband.

This baby looks NOTHING like Marisol. She must look like her father.

Some comments make me laugh. Just because you are of a certain race doesn’t mean you have to look like what that race is.I am not surprised that Marisol had a red haired, blue eyed child. I am American of Mexican descent. Yes, I am typical, olive skinned with dark brown eyes. But both my brothers are fair skinned with one having blue eyes and the other having green eyes and yes we have the same parents, who are Mexican. I live in deep South Texas. It is not uncommen to see Latinos who are fair with colored eyes. It is just genetics, simple as that.

- Rachel on

I actually think she looks just like her mama with a little lighter hair and skin color…

- mmh on

She is fair, she just looks like ‘herself’ too of course, a combination of both genes somewhere along the line, lol, but doesn’t look obviously like her mum, I agree. Don’t know the actress as never really watched 24. Like Rain’s dress and love the name India – think India Rain would’ve sounded cuter, just not a fan of the name Rain, bit ‘hippyish’ for us but each to their own!

I never understand why people put hard soled shoes on young babies.

The baby is super cute. Must look like her Daddy.

Ani, it’s not an issue! it’s just always a surprise when one parent is latin, african american, or Italian like me and children may take after the more lighter parent! I don’t have an issue! I thinks it pretty neat to see how your child is going to lool like! Everyone whose pregnant thinks about how the child is going to look when their born! Genes & nature are awesome !!!!!

Very cute little pumpkin and her mom!
Have to say that, yes, darker genes don’t dominate always. I too have similar complexion to Marisol’s. Our daughter takes after daddy, she has fair skin, her hair isn’t blonde, but much lighter than mine, her eyes aren’t brown like mine, basically she doesn’t look anything like me. Nothing at all. And as Silvana said people think i’m her babysitter, couple of times i’ve been approached at play centers and asked if i can play with their chidlren as well seeing how much fun we having with my daughter, but then when they ask what i’m charging for this, i’d laugh saying that i’m her mom, not her babysitter :) I don’t mind though that she doesn’t look like me, i love her to bits and it’s all that matters.

They should have named her “America”!! A rose. regardless,by any other name.
