Have a Question for Mayim Bialik?

Chris Weeks/WireImage

Actress Mayim Bialik is back to work after the birth of her second son — she appeared in an episode of Bones last month — and has found herself in need of a “mommy makeover.” Help comes in the form of Stacey London and Clinton Kelly, in an upcoming episode of What Not to Wear, which begins its new season on May 29th.

We’ll be chatting with the former Blossom star — mom to Miles, 3 ½, and Fred, 9 months — about the makeover experience as well as motherhood to her two boys.

Have a question for Mayim? Please post it in the comments.

Do you plan on sending your children to school? Are you following attachment parenting? Are you still breastfeeding Miles?

I actually met her the other weekend when she approached me about the wrap I was wearing–a Sleepy Wrap, by the way. We talked for a while, and I didn’t even realize it was her until we had finished talking. She is super nice and both her boys are too cute!

What was is like being on “What Not To Wear”? I absolutely love that show and have always wondered what Stacey and Clinton are really like!

Hey. I was such a big fan of Blossom as I know a lot of others were as well. I was wondering if you were going to be acting more?

- Amy on

I just <3 her. I think she is great and I love how NORMAL she made baby wearing and breastfeeding at the same time look. and the fact that she is a GENIUS is also fantastic! Glad she is getting back into acting. my favourite Blossom episode was when she had to buy tampons, I could sure relate to that one!

I come from a family of mainly girls and do wish to have a little boy; however, I find myself when babysitting my nephew frustrated because of my lack of experience with having boys around. My question is what are your tips on raising and disciplining boys?

- Brittany on

I read and enjoyed your description of your younger son’s homebirth on this site. I was wondering when you became interested in home birth. Was your older son also born at home? What was your experience with his birth?

Also, did your elder son enjoy being part of his brother’s birth? I bet he did. My daughter was born at home four months ago, but at the last minute we decided not to wake up our three-year-old son, as my labor was way too intense. He met his sister about half an hour after she was born, and he LOVED helping the midwives at that point.

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions! :)

Considering Mayim’s academic AND entertainment backgrounds, I wonder what her thoughts are with regards to her children possibly pursuing careers in the acting business, and whether or not she sees herself professionally utilizing her Ph.D in the future (extremely impressive, by the way!)

Mayim:

What would you say that your greatest achievements besides acting and school that you have done in your life. Being a parent has its challenges, but what important family values are wanting to instill you in children? Do you plan on having more. Congrats on school.

I remember reading that you had mixed feelings over vaccinations, I was wondering did you decide to vaccinate Fred, do a spaced out vaccine schedule, or choose not to?

Also, do you have any new projects coming up?

Thanks! :)

I am curious if you will be having more children or are you done with the 2 adorable boys you have? I, like another poster above, would love to hear about your homebirth experience as well.

Hi Mayim,

My question is, when you get recognized in public because of your career, does your 3 1/2 year old react to it, and how do you explain it to him if he does? How do you intend to explain your fame to your sons in the future?

- Cecilia on

It’s so cool to see her on here. Especially since I found out I was pregnant recently and totally did a Joey “Woah!”

- Carrie Jo on

What is the most typical day like with the boys? Do you have nanny-help?

- L.J. on

Mayim!
As a kid I always enjoyed your pseudo hippie character Blossom. Now as an adult, I am aware that you often make holistic choices for your children. Can you tell us more about your lifestyle; what you priritize, what motivates your decisions, your birth and philosophies about raising children in harmony?
Thank you!

Good luck on your re-entry into acting.

1. It would be great to see you capitalize on your education, music and multi-lingual talents – like a spot on the Israeli series Srugim.
2. How about teaming up with Wendy Shalit for a “modest makeover” series teaching teenage girls how to express their femininity through a modest yet fashionable appearance
3. Any idea if Kalamazoo? will ever be released on DVD?

She has to be one of the most down to earth celebs. I loved the show “Blossom” she starred in. I don’t have any questions for her. I like the names she has selected for her kids.

- Joy on

I really wish i could home school my children for the fact so i wouldn’t have to vaccinate them. I just for the first time read up on her and her parenting styles, for lack of vocabulary on my part all i can say is she’s just awesome! she got her doctorate degree and has the most beautiful way of raising her family. I really wish i could do those things. If i had the money i would def try. I’m jealous! Just to have that degree alone would be fantastic. So you can help your own family with the knowledge and others that you love. ugh i am so jealous. lol. now i will go back to my processed foods and fear of getting vaccinated.
