Breastfeeding uses about 500 calories a day! And Ms. Halliwell using the term “milk mafia” is not productive to new mothers deciding what is the best & most healthy course of action for their new infants. The AAP doesn’t actually recommend a specific length of time that moms should breastfeed. Instead, they recommend that ‘breastfeeding continue for at least 12 months, and thereafter for as long as mutually desired’. So 12 months is more a minimum recommendation.

You can call her a babysitter, a nanny, a housekeeper that does childcare or a nanny that does housework. Doesn’t matter how you spin it or rename it, bottom line is that parents shouldn’t feel ashamed of having help caring for their kids.
