Nicole Richie and Her Curly-Haired Cutie

Limelight

Nicole Richie totes her pretty-in-pink daughter Harlow Winter Kate — who was munching on a snack! — as they make their way back to the car after visiting with a friend on Friday in Los Angeles.

As for Nicole’s casual look, “I don’t wear jewelry because Harlow puts it in her mouth and I don’t wear heels because I run around after her,” she explains.

Nicole, 27, and Joel Madden expect their second child in late August/early September, joining Harlow, 15 months.

See more images in their family album, The Richie-Maddens!

Harlow is wearing See Kai Run smaller shoes in Tamar ($32), Amber Hagen Baby Love 100% Cashmere Hoodie in pink (on sale for $125) and C&C California Short Sleeve Tee in Amethyst ($32).

Kathy Ireland: Moms Can Have it All, Just Not at Once!

Roger Karnbad/Celebrity Photo

When asked by Time Out New York Kids to describe herself as a mom, Kathy Ireland doesn’t hesitate. ”Tired, joyful and constantly amazed,” the 46-year-old model and entrepreneur replies, before adding “Our kids are incredible…they keep us humble, and they teach us so much.” That reward far outweighs any risk she might have felt when putting her career on the back burner in order to care for her three children Erik, 14, Lily, 10, and Chloe, 6. “On a panel I respectfully disagreed with Barbara Walters, who said she didn’t believe women could have it all,” Kathy notes. “I think we can — only not all at once.”

“Our kids are only going to be little for a short window of time. For me, that means I have to say ‘no’ to a lot of things for now. I didn’t learn that no is a complete sentence until I was 40. You don’t need to attach an excuse. There are only so many hours in the day. Sometimes we have to say no to good things so we can do great things.”

Ironically, the kids played a role in her decision to start her self-named company Kathy Ireland Worldwide. “Becoming a mom for the first time changed my life in so many ways,” Kathy explains. “My mission crystallized after my son was born: It’s finding solutions for families, especially busy moms.” The things Kathy learned she’d “taken for granted” previously — like taking a shower! — suddenly became “a huge luxury.” She goes on to joke,

“I don’t know if Elizabeth Taylor intended it when she developed it, but [her perfume] White Diamonds is really a solution for busy moms: It’s a shower in a bottle! It comes in handy on those days when you can’t fit bathing in.”

Finding time for exercise is also a struggle for many moms, and Kathy recently went on record with her own battle of the bulge. “The gain was gradual, about a pound a year for the last 25 years,” she admits. “Very easy to sneak up on you!” It was her children who inadvertently alerted Kathy to the problem. “Our son was running around with a new camera he got, taking pictures of everything in sight [and when my youngest saw one of the pictures he'd taken of me], she blurted out, ‘Mommy, you look pregnant,’” Kathy recalls. Having since shed the extra pounds, Kathy says her focus is now on staying healthy for her loved ones. ”I want to be there for my family,” she explains. “I don’t want to leave my husband to raise our kids alone.”

Erik, Lily and Chloe are Kathy’s children with husband Dr. Greg Olsen.

Have a Question for Josie Bissett?

Barry King/WireImage

Actress Josie Bissett has accomplished a lot in her lifetime. First stepping in front of the camera at age 12, she struck it big on the hit TV show Melrose Place, appearing in numerous television shows and films in between. The 38-year-old decided to slow down a bit once she had children — son Mason Tru, 9 ½, and daughter Maya Rose, 7, with ex-husband Rob Estes — and has since traded in magazine covers and awards shows for motherhood and book writing (she’s penned two parenting books, Little Bits of Wisdom and Making Memories).

Josie’s latest venture is a children’s book, Tickle Monster, a story about a friendly monster who just can’t stop tickling! She also appears on The Secret Life of the American Teenager. We spoke to her previously about her experiences as a mom, actress and author, and will be again soon.

We’d love to include your questions for Josie! Please leave them below.

Sean O’Neill/INF

Enjoying the sun, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell stepped out for lunch in Toronto on Monday with their fraternal twins, Dolly Rebecca Rose (bottom seat) and Charlie Tamara Tulip (top seat), 4 months.

Staying in the city while filming The Love Child of Andy Warhol and Yoko Ono in the town of Hamilton, the couple has been seen out and about quite a bit — when they aren’t watching Dancing With the Stars and American Idol with the girls, that is!

Rebecca pushes a Double Decker Twin Stroller ($295). The girls are in Graco SnugRide infant car seats ($160) in Platinum with Itzy Ritzy Baby Ritzy Rider infant car seat covers ($110) in Leopard and Fuchsia Minky Dot. Jennifer Garner Dishes on Her 'Happy Chaos'

Jen Lowery/Startraks

Some lessons are learned the hard way and for Jennifer Garner, the downside of being open and honest about her private life is one of them. “When I first started out, my natural inclination was just to tell you everything that you could possibly want to know about me, my husband, my kids, my family, my childhood, any dark scene that ever happened to me,” she admits to the Pasadena Star-News. “I’m an open person that way; so it has taken me years to learn.” And while she still — at times — says more than she wants to, at the same time, it’s hard not to talk about the “happy chaos” of her personal life.

A mom of two — together with husband Ben Affleck, she has Violet Anne, 3, and Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, 3 ½ months — Jennifer says she’s grateful for the “absolute bliss” of her recent extended hiatus from acting. She’s currently making the rounds in support of her latest film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and this summer will be back on set in the film Butter, which she’s also producing. “It will be a week or so of chaos with everybody readjusting and hating it for a while, but that’ll work for a couple months and I’ll be done again,” she explains.

“Every working woman in the world has a difficult balancing act. As a matter of fact every mother in the world has a difficult balancing act…I’m certainly not special because I’m an actress. In fact it’s probably easier for me than it is for most women.”

There are also days where it’s easier to say goodbye than others! “I wasn’t sorry to leave the house this morning,” she admits. “It’s a little messy.”

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is in theaters May 1st.
