Ramona Sarsgaard: Future Soccer Player?

Janet Mayer/Splash News Online

Believe it or not, acting was not Peter Sarsgaard‘s first career choice! He actually wanted to be a professional soccer player but “sustained a number of injuries” in the sport. “I had gotten a couple of concussions,” he explains, “and I kind of dropped out from playing.”

However, he continues to make the game a priority in life and is grooming his little girl to follow in his footsteps! Peter, 38, plans on teaching his and actress Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s 2 ½-year-old daughter Ramona all about the sport.

“Every child that I have must play soccer. I’m one of those people who’s constantly chipping the ball over the kitchen island trying to land it into a basket of Ramona’s toys — taking out wine glasses and things.”

Ramona is the first child for Peter and Maggie, 31.

Andie MacDowell Tells Kids to 'Take Their Time' With Love

Bryan Bedder/Getty

When it comes to romance, Andie MacDowell tells OK! she’s hoping that her three children — Justin, 23, Rainey, 20 and Sarah Margaret, 14 — will someday blaze a different trail than their mom. “My biggest love advice to them is to do as I say and not as I’ve done,” she admits. “And really take their time getting to know someone.” It seems as though the kids are often more in tune with what Andie needs than Andie, herself!

“I usually ask them what they think [of a date], and they’re usually right. I think if I were to ask my kids every time what their opinion was, I would be better off.”

The 50-year-old Four Weddings and a Funeral star adds that as her children are growing up and going in different directions, her relationship with them has changed. “Having a 20-year-old that lives in New York, I have to have a lot of trust and faith and acknowledge her independence,” she explains. “It’s sort of like that balancing of giving someone structure and knowing when to give them freedom.”

Justin, Rainey and Sarah Margaret are Andie’s children with ex-husband Paul Qualley.

Tori Spelling Dishes on Belly Flab, and More

Tori Spelling

It’s the moment every new mom dreads. A few weeks or months postpartum, and a stranger offers up congratulations for a baby-on-the-way who has already arrived! Although she swiftly returned to pre-baby form after welcoming son Liam Aaron, 2, and daughter Stella Doreen, 10-months, Tori Spelling says that even she has fallen victim to this nightmarish scenario.

“It just happens. It’s always when you think that you’ve lost a little of the baby weight that someone steps in grabs a handful of a now sans baby soft belly and asks the inevitable ‘When are you due?’ It happened to me quite a bit after both babies.”

In a revealing new interview with Mommy Track’d, the 35-year-old 90210 star makes it abundantly clear that there’s little she isn’t willing to discuss when it comes to motherhood. Before welcoming Liam in 2007, Tori admitted she was “paranoid” about having a bowel movement during a vaginal delivery; The issue was mooted when she needed a c-section but she says she wouldn’t have hidden anything from husband Dean McDermott had things turned out differently. “Luckily Dean and I share everything, so YES…I would have asked him to check to see if I had done the deed!” Speaking of the latter, there’s been plenty to go ’round since Stella arrived on the scene! “Having two babies so young…[it] is a lot of work,” she notes, adding:

“Its a lot of POOP! But its so rewarding to see them begin to interact and start to play together. I’m lucky that I have such a hands on husband. Dean is amazing! Patsy our baby nurse is still with us and will be with us till June. Its a lot more gear with two [kids] and we eat a lot more meals in but we love every moment of it.”
