Brooke Mueller Sheen Says Seeing Sons Was 'Frightening'

Sara Jaye Weiss/Startraks

Although well aware that carrying her fraternal twins any longer would have put Brooke Mueller Sheen “in serious jeopardy,” — she battled preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and cholestasis — there was no preparing the nervous mama and her husband Charlie Sheen for seeing their baby boys for the first time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. “I went to the NICU to see [Bob and Max] and words can’t express how amazing and shocking to see two human beings that came out of me,” Brooke recalls.

“I was scared. Our babies had so many tubes on them, it was frightening.”

Reiterating that Max’s extended stay in the hospital was due to nothing other than low weight, Charlie explains that the circulating rumors of Max’s alleged heart condition derived from his diagnosis of ejection fraction. “It’s the volume at which the heart pumps and how much blood the heart can pump,” he says. “There wasn’t anything that any other premature child, especially a twin, doesn’t normally go through.”

With Bob and Max “gradually going toward normal” and the Mueller-Sheens settling down as a family of seven — including Charlie’s three daughters — Brooke is beginning to wonder whether her sons inherited any of her traits at all. “They are complete Sheens,” she says of her boys. “I’m like, ‘Can I at least have an ear?!’” As baby Bob is a clone of his father — noted by everyone in the NICU who lovingly referred to the baby as Charlie — Max seems to be taking after his grandfather, Martin Sheen.

As for 5-year-old Sam and 3 ½-year-old Lola, the big sisters are simply in heaven with the newest additions! “I think they think they might be dolls,” Brooke laughs. And while Charlie is happy to be a father for the fourth and fifth time around, he jokes that any maternal feelings stirring in his older daughter Cassandra Jade, 24, need to be ignored … for now!

“With her it’s more like, ‘Don’t get any ideas!’ At 43, I’m not ready for that label [of Grandpa].”

Alyson and Alexis Stroll With Satyana

Limelight

After welcoming daughter Satyana four weeks ago, Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof have been homebodies, staying in away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi.

On Thursday, they were back out and about in Santa Monica, this time with their baby girl in tow! The pair packed sub sandwiches and potato chips and parked it at a picnic table, where they enjoyed lunch.

Alyson, who twitters under her married name, recently wrote, “I’ve been puked on, peed on, pooped on and I’ve never been happier in my life. Babies are amazing!!!” We guess motherhood is agreeing with her!

The former Buffy co-stars released a photo of their little girl last week — click here to meet Satyana if you haven’t already!

Satyana rides in a Quinny Dreami Bassinet in Strawberry ($200), connected to the base of a limited edition Quinny Buzz ($1160), designed by Henrik Vibskov. (Alyson swapped the stroller seat for the Dreami.)

Taylor Hanson Makes the Most of Time With Family

Vince Flores/Celebrity Photo

As he prepares to hit the road with his new band Tinted Windows, Taylor Hanson is leaving some pretty precious cargo behind — wife Natalie and the couple’s four children Ezra, 6, Penelope Anne, 4, River, 2 ½, and Viggo Moriah, 4-months. While it’s hard to say goodbye, the 26-year-old singer seems to realize that he’s getting the easier end of the deal! In a new interview with Z100 Taylor at first jokes that “you just leave them with enough food and water to survive,” but goes on to give credit to his “amazing wife” who “gets it, and handles all the craziness.”

Noting that it’s “not just guys in bands…people are constantly trying to balance career and family,” Taylor says that when it comes to interaction he emphasizes quality over quantity.

“You just try to make the time that you’ve got really cool. When you’re there, you’re totally present, and you just bounce back and forth.”

Tinted Windows’ self-titled new album is available now.
