Holly Robinson Peete Laments New Move

The last few weeks have been busy for Holly Robinson Peete and family! In a blog for MomLogic, the 44-year-old actress writes that she, husband Rodney Peete and the couple’s four children recently spent spring break in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. “The beach was gorgeous, the water crystal blue, and kids fished, played on the sand, jet skied and mommy returned tanned and relaxed,” Holly shares. All good things must come to an end, however, and soon it was time to work! Twins Ryan and Rodney, Jr., 11 ½, Robinson, 6 ½ and Roman, 4 – together with their mom! — shot the family’s “annual” commercial for Colgate, and then it was on to New York City to do promotion for My Brother Charlie, a book Ryan wrote about having a twin with autism.

Somehow in the midst of it all, the family moved from its home of 12 years. “Anyone with small children knows this is never easy,” Holly writes. While the kids were “excited by the prospect of new surroundings,” they developed cold feet when the big day arrived.

“We had the same breakdowns many of you have probably experienced: Will I have to change schools? If I do, will I make new friends? Will my old friends still be my friends? What about my bedroom, will it be the same or different? But I don’t want to sell that at the garage sale, can’t I keep everything? What about Harriet (the dog)?”

In closing, Holly wonders where her spring break has gone. “Take a moment for yourself … before you have to think about summer vacation,” she suggests.

My Brother Charlie is slated for publication next spring to coincide with Autism Awareness Month.

I’m sure writing this book was very therapeutic for Ryan.

I think it’s wonderful that Ryan wrote about her twin bro, RJ. Maybe have some insight from someone on the other side, not the parent, but just as close, his twin sister. I wouldn’t mind checking it out when it’s released. :)

I hope they get to go to the same schools. We moved a lot from the age of 10-18. But at least my brother and I got to go to the same schools.. It helps a lot.. Holly seems like a great mom..
