Two Anaheim Ducks Welcome New Babies

The NHL playoffs are underway and the wives of two Anaheim Ducks are showing that they are team players in their own right! Caroline Marchant, wife of forward Todd Marchant, and Marie Claude Beauchemin, wife of defenseman François Beauchemin, both delivered babies on Monday, a day off between home games.

According to the LA Times, Marie Claude and François welcomed a daughter, Emily Beauchemin, via c-section. She weighed in at 7 lbs., 13 oz and joins the couple’s son Samuel at home.

Caroline and Todd, on the other hand, welcomed a son, Bradley David Marchant, following an induction. He weighed in at 7 lbs., 6 oz. and is 20 inches long. The following day, the proud papa — still wearing his hospital wristband — told reporters that “if it were up to [Caroline], she’d be at the game tonight.” He then mused, “she may come and not tell me because she knows I’ll be mad at her.”

It appears as though Todd knows his wife well: The newspaper reports that Caroline did indeed attend Tuesday night’s clash with the San Jose Sharks, with all four kids in tow – including the couple’s newborn son! There were no signs of anger from Todd after the game, however.

“You have a beautiful child, you’re in the playoffs. Life doesn’t get much better than that.”

Todd and Caroline are already parents to daughters Lillian and Ashley and son Timothy.

I love hockey! I love babies! I don’t hate the Ducks. Congrats to both families.

Wow, I cannot even imagine taking a one-day-old baby plus 3 other kids to a hockey game!

Yah, I don’t think I would have taken my newborn out to a hockey game (how did she even get out of the hospital that fast?) but I figure she’s got box seats so the baby wouldn’t be exposed to all those fans.

Congrats to them both! And according to the Ducks website, Marie Claude and Francois’s daughter is named Emily and Todd and Caroline’s son is named Bradley David!

one c-section, and one induction.
That’s hollywood for you.

Had to post again, but I saw the family on the CBC broadcast of Game 4 last night. Very beautiful family. They showed, Caroline, Lillian, Ashley and baby Bradley. And they weren’t sitting in a box, but with the crowd (I assume in the Wives/Family section though!)

Andy- These are hockey players we’re talking about. I don’t consider sports to be Hollywood. Also, how on Earth do you know that the C-section and Induction weren’t medically neccesary, or that the the women weren’t pressured into them by their doctors (that DOES happen sometimes!)?
