Mr. Coffee 12-cup Coffee Maker: For Serious Coffee Drinkers Who Don't Like to Fuss

04/21/2009 at 10:30 AM ET

If you are looking for a simple coffee machine that will also look stunning on your counter-top, look no further than the Mr. Coffee 12-cup Coffee Maker ($50).

This machine features a self-cleaning cycle, a two-hour auto shut-off and programmable controls (a clock and a timer). You can also choose the brew strength of your coffee, though to be honest I didn’t notice a big difference. It also offers my personal favorite feature, the Pause ‘n Serve feature that allows you to fill your cup with coffee while the machine is still brewing (great for inpatient moms like me).

This machine also includes a water filtration system which removes 97% of the chlorine from your water if that is something that worries you. I thought this feature wouldn’t matter to me (New York City has great tasting tap water) but it actually did make a surprising difference in the way my coffee tasted.

If you are a serious coffee drinker who can do without all the bells and whistles this machine has your name written all over it.

This model is sold exclusively at Bed, Bath and Beyond ($50).

This seems like a random review. I know mom’s like their coffee and all but if I want a review of coffee makers I’ll head on over to consumer reports.

maybe. on the other hand, this may be the number one most needed but forgotten item on your baby wish list. :)

Why are the reviews always positive? They sounds more like ads than reviews.

Ha! I received this from my best friend for my birthday and I Love it. Have zero complaints, very happy, and I’m a total coffee snob.

I agree Anna, which makes me wonder if the reviewer Teba either works for Mr. Coffee or Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It just seems kind of silly to have a coffee maker review on a baby website.

Again, Baby website, not a website for Bed Bath and Beyond… These ads are annoying…

I second that…the random product reviews are quite annoying. More like commercials than reviews.

I would have never found this coffee pot if I didn’t come on here, so I appauled cbb for doing the review….I think whoever don’t like the reviews, just scroll past it, I do that all the time for items that don’t pertain to me

remember it may not benefit you, but it may benefit another Mom, like myself!

Personally, I enjoy the reviews. As for them being positive, well, sometimes I don’t want to waste my time reading about something I shouldn’t buy, so I appreciate the short reviews of something that IS a GOOD buy. To each their own obviously. The reviews and the links to articles are some favorites of mine on the site, because I don’t have all day to just search the web for these items/articles. That being said, there’s items on the site that aren’t of particular interest to me… so I just scroll on down! That would be my humble suggestion.

I bought this coffee maker to replace a broken one two days before I saw this review (need that coffee in the morning!).

So far, so good. It has an auto timer for the morning, turns off by itself after 2 hours, the pause and serve feature works without dripping and the water filter really does make a difference in the taste.

PS: I found mine at Walmart for $39.88!
