Melie Mucci/LE/Splash News Online

Expecting their first child this summer, newlyweds Sarah Shahi and Steve Howey are keeping busy — eloping in Vegas, attending awards shows, and popping up at events — including the Loomstate for Target Collection party at Big Red Sun, held in Venice, Calif. on Tuesday.

The Life star, 29 — who debuted a darker hair color at the launch party — is also featured in our Who’s Due Next Gallery — check it out!

Loomstate, an eco-friendly, organic clothing line, will be available at Target starting tomorrow.

I am soooo happy for the Howey family. He played the role of a father well on Reba. I wish them the best.

I love Steve as Van Montgomery on Reba, he is so funny!

I am so happy Target is going to have organic clothing, I am assuming it will be affordable, Target is my favorite store…I could spend hours there shopping…lol

Aren’t you supposed to stay away from hair dyes when you’re pregnant? Definitely a risk I wouldn’t take.

- Bird on

Bird- my OB only advised against hair dye during the first trimester, and largely because of the fumes. So I think she’s probably ok.

Love her on Life, she looks great!

I’m not a fan of the new do but I’m excited about their baby. Can’t wait!!

Cute couple! Sarah looks great!

Not dying your hair during pregnancy is an out dated myth. The only risk would be the fumes and as long as you are not coloring your hair in a closet it’s ok.

She looks great – super baby bump – except for the hair – it looks so dyed, almost like a wig.

She is so pretty but I am not loving the hair. It makes her look a lot older IMO. Nevertheless, they are both very attractive and will no doubt have a gorgeous baby!

LOL the comments about her hair are funny. Sarah’s natural colour is dark, not the light colours or highlights she always sports. LOl, its a bit humourous to me that she goes back to basic and people think it looks unnatural (wig) or bad lol :)

I know that there are lots of options for hair dying that are natural.I once got reddish hair by dying it with coffee !

I used to get weird comments on my hair during pregnancy also. I blacked it out early to make it look more lush and healthy with henna. And so it would not look gross when it started to grow out.

I found that the more visibly pregnant you are, the more cautious stylist are. My stylist would not colour my hair at all. According to her, for 2 reasons:

#1. The small chance that it may hurt the baby (she doesn’t want to be the small percent and get sued etc) and

#2. She said that your hormones change during pregnancy and the colour may not adapt the way it normally does to your hair and the hair gets screwed up.Some of the other stylists that were there were piping in how they don’t do it anymore because of the amount of refunds they have had to do.

I think it is Sarah’s Iranian roots coming through :) I have personally never known an Iranian woman with bad hair !

Aya’s right. Shahi’s hair is naturally darker. People should also keep in mind that you can easily go darker during a pregnancy without chemicals. You can just use vegetable dye which is all natural.
