Geri Halliwell: 'I Would Die' for Bluebell

INF

Proudly proclaiming her daughter Bluebell Madonna, 2 ½, her greatest inspiration, Geri Halliwell reveals in a new interview with the Independent there is nothing she enjoys more than her role as a mom. Despite the fame and fortune she’s enjoyed as a member of the Spice Girls, it is Bluebell Geri lists as her most valuable possession, clarifying:

“She’s not a possession, but she is mine. She is the only person I value over anything in my life. I would die for her.”

What’s more, Geri adds that when she is in the mood to spend it is often her daughter who reaps the benefits. “I prefer to buy clothes for her than for me,” the 36-year-old songstress and author admits. “She is like my little doll – I like to dress her up in Victorian clothes.”

She is so cute!! Is it me or does Geri look like Heidi Klum in this picture??

I don’t know what Geri meant by the possession thing, but I wonder if she allows Bluebell’s daddy access to the little girl now? I remember reading A LOT of stories at the time of the birth that were very critical about that situation. I just hope Bluebell is able to grow up with two parents who love and care for her. She’s very cute, especially her curls.

Alex, I always thought that Bluebell’s father didn’t want to be a apart of her life? I could be wrong, but is it really Geri who is not “allowing” access?

Sarah, there was a lot in the British press about him wanting to see her and Geri telling him to go buy the magazine the pictures were in. How much of that was true, I do not know, but I don’t think we’ve ever actually seen pictures of Sacha and his daughter, so there could be something in it.

I’m not sure how much I believe the tabloid press. If he was really being kept from his daughter, there are legal avenues he could puruse and we certainly haven’t seen any of that. It’s not like Geri can keep him from his daughter unless he chooses not to fight her in court.

Bluebell is so adorable, and she’s usually dressed adorably, so I’m not surprised to hear that Geri loves buying her clothes.

As for the situation with Bluebell’s dad, I know that Bluebell has never had any contact with her father. Stories have tended to indicate that this was largely a decision on Geri’s part, though of course Sacha could take legal action if he really wanted to pursue a role his daughter’s life.

Thanks Alex!

The British laws are a bit funny on this kind of thing. I don’t know how it works in America, I’m guessing it varies from state to state, but over here, Sacha would have no parental rights at all, since I doubt he is on the birth certificate. I’m speculating here, but if Geri would not be actively supportive of him putting his name on the birth certificate, he would have to go to court to get it done, and even then I think the court would only make a change to the circumstances if they feel it is in the best interests of the child. If there is no element of maternal support for the paternal relationship, things are difficult here. But I do agree with the general feeling on this, if Sacha pushed hard enough in a legal sense, I imagine he would eventually get parental rights, it’s just a bit of a longwinded process. I hope he does have contact though, he’s Bluebell’s daddy and a child can never have too much love.

That’s horrible Geri is doing that to the babies father. I don’t think the press should glorify her for doing that.

This is cute! I call my daughter my little accessory, as a joke of course, because she goes with me everywhere:)
