babycottons: World's Cutest Layette

Peter Striped Top and Pants Set ($32) and Peter Humita Gown ($39)

Not all cottons are created equal: We all know this when it comes to our bed linens (or worse, the bedsheets at a cheap motel). The quality of cotton counts even more when you’re talking about the most precious creature in existence — your new baby. The pima cotton in babycottons layette ($12-$52) blankets, jammies, hats and outfits feels like silk jersey. The prints are as sweet as a Beatrix Potter illustration, and sometimes surprisingly fresh. My favorites are a sweet set for girls sprinkled with pink stars and upon closer inspection, tiny little girly aliens in pink dresses perched upon pink planets.

They carry everything you need for a full layette: cross tees, leggings, bodysuits, footy pajamas, cardigans, ultra-soft receiving blankets, towels, booties, burp cloths, hats, bibs and even elegant coming home sets. Mamas who dress their babies in babycottons include Jennifer Lopez, Carolina Herrera and Nina Garcia – women who know a thing or two about fabrics and fashion!
