Earth Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than by taking time to think about the way we care for our planet? We’ve done just that, and here, present our CBB Guide to Green Living. Just pointing it out, but organic cotton is not inherently “green” at all. While organic cotton is probably better than conventional cotton (it is more land intensive than convention cotton, which is a tradeoff), cotton is an incredibly water-intensive crop. In fact the water demands of cotton are by far the most to blame for the rapidly shrinking Aral Sea, which has lost over 80 percent of its volume in the last 50 years due to diversion projects — the great majority of them going to agriculture for that supposedly sustainable fiber. And that’s just one example…
