Stokke TRIPP TRAPP Accessories: Bringing Baby to the Table

The Stokke TRIPP TRAPP highchair (starting at $250) was one of our most successful baby gear investments when my son was younger. In fact, as a four-year-old, he still uses it many times a day. So there was no doubt that when it came time to get a highchair for our daughter, we’d get a Stokke TRIPP TRAPP (plus, she couldn’t inherit her brother’s since he’s still using it!). Lucky for us (and her), there have been some great new additions to the Stokke TRIPP TRAPP line recently.

The TRIPP TRAPP Baby Set ($90) is the key to using this excellent highchair right from the start. Babies as young as six months can sit in the TRIPP TRAPP thanks to the addition of a special safety rail and a back support. Now the TRIPP TRAPP is the only seat you’ll ever need for baby.

The TRIPP TRAPP Cushion (starting at $45) makes everything all the more comfortable for baby and even easier on the eyes for mom. Admittedly, I find things start to get a bit cramped with the addition of the Cushion to the Baby Set, but I think for a young baby it would be perfect and I know from experience that the cushion is great once the baby set is removed. Stokke has some specially coated cushion options (I have and love the Tales Pink one) for even easier clean up.

The TRIPP TRAPP Table Top ($90) is my favorite new addition to the Stokke line. Unlike a highchair tray, which separates a baby from the rest of the family at the table, the Table Top allows baby to sit with everyone else. It attaches with innovative, low-profile suction cups that won’t budge from where you put them unless you want them to. The lip around the edge of the tray catches wayward food and drinks. And there are interchangeable picture mats that go under the tray and offer unique, age-appropriate learning experiences. Stokke, a company known for thinking of everything, even includes an inspiration book to teach parents the best ways to use each template.

Just because babies like to throw peas and snort water doesn’t mean they aren’t great table companions (heck, maybe it means that they are!). Our family, for one, is glad that Stokke is helping to bring all the littlest ones right up where they belong: at the table with everyone else.

I WISH this was something we splurged on. Now that my daughter has gone through the regular high chair, and a booster seat, not to mention reupholstering the chair from using the booster seat, I realize I’ve spent almost as much money as if I bought the Stokke from the get-go. Oh well…
VERY COOL place-mat though! I was just thinking this morning as my daughter skidded her place-mat across the table, knocking over her juice, “why doesn’t anyone make skid-free place-mats?!”

It’s a really cute highchair even though it does have an odd shape. But, I do have to mention who in today’s world with the eocnomy has $250+ to spend on a high chair? I wish there were truly affordable but cute items shown more.

Its cool, but I am so happy with my rainforest high chair.Easy to clean, not expensive and my son love it.
I wish see here more products for normal people LOL most the things they have here its for rich people or celebrity people.

I guess the high chair is worth it if you plan on utilizing it for more than one child, and if you plan on changing it to a regular chair.

We by no means have very much money but we do have the Stokke tripp trapp. We had family all chip in and get it as a Christmas present for our family instead of any other gift when our son was about 9 months old. Let me tell you that it is sooo worth it. He eats better because he is part of the table. We enjoy having him near us. He is 2 now and we will be using this chair for a long time. We have another on the way and planning on doing the same thing. This chair is not “fancy” it’s actually practical. You have to consider it a piece of furniture rather than just a highchair.

This chair grows with your child so it’s not just a highchair. It’s great for toddlers and preschoolers because it supports their feet which leads to less fidgeting. The chair adjusts for every stage and then eventually becomes a regular chair for adults.

Lets see $250.00 and it will grow with my child. $250.00 divided into 20+ years an investemnt of less than $12.50 a year. Clearly a wise investment and we will not have all thoes highchairs in our landfills. The fact that is matches dining room table and is not plastic…… priceless!

Its not a high chair , its an heirloom . You can use it for yor children and pass it on to your grandchildren . I got it as a present for my oldest daughters first christmas and its still inn use every day , eleven years later . And it has an exellent second hand value , in norway they sell used chairs super fast .

This chair is wonderful!! The price is nothing compared to the price of a cheesy highchair and booster. You don’t need the accessories. My son is able to eat diner “with” us every night. And now he can easily climb up and down it (18 mos.) and he is so proud of himself. Don’t be a hater!

I love those chairs. We have four of them :)

My mom still uses the one she used with me and my brother – it’s over 32 years old!

We have one that we used with Anya but now that we have a banquette/booth set-up in the kitchen, we lent it to our friends to use with their 11 month old.

I used this when I was younger! I am now 18. I think I used it untill I was 8 if I remember correctly. My sister had one too. Cool to see that they are still around :)
