Baby dangling from the window is scary.

What a scary story. So glad those men were there to catch her, and I think that this is a perfect illustration of how most(not all) people are selfless and fundamentally good to each other as human beings when someone else is in need. I don’t want to get too deep, but I do believe that we are hard wired to respond in the way these gentlemen did, who didn’t know each other or the child, as a way of perpetuating our species. We don’t know anything about these men…they could’ve been ex-convicts for all we know (which I am not assuming is true), but they instinctually went to save that baby. It really is amazing how primal instinct comes into play, not only in humans, but in many other animals.

I didn’t watch the full video but got cold chills with the illustration at the beginning showing what happened. She is so lucky those men were there! I don’t want to step on toes with this because I wasn’t there obviously but don’t they make child locks for windows? How old were the two other kids that they thought to open a window and dangle their baby sister from it?! As I parent I would be too mortified to go on national television after something like this, but I guess it does bring attention to other parents that kids can do crazy things when not watched.

Manda it is in the full video when the parents and rescuers are being interviewed. The other children are 3 and 4. The mom wasn’t home and the dad was giving the new baby a bath while the other kids ran around the house. It got quiet and when he went to check on them (you can’t just leave a new baby in the bathtub) the 18-month-old had fallen shortly before. The dad sounded very shaken up and thankful.
