Louise Redknapp's Life Lesson: Take Nothing For Granted

Richard Young/Startraks

The joyous occasion of welcoming their second son only 11 weeks before quickly turned into a parent’s nightmare for Louise Redknapp and her husband Jamie when his health took an unexpected turn for the worse. With symptoms that had the couple fearing meningitis, baby Beau Henry was hospitalized for four days with his parents as permanent fixtures by his cribside. Turning to Jamie, Louise admits that her ability to stay strong was due to his constant support during the entire ordeal. “If Jamie hadn’t been there, I don’t know what I’d have done,” she tells the Daily Mail. “I fell apart. I didn’t sleep — I just prayed.”

Luckily for the family, Beau recovered from his stay in the hospital and is a now a happy 4-month-old baby. However, the uncertainty of the future is something that Louise always keeps in mind. “I would never count on what’s going to happen in a week’s time, a month’s time or a year’s time,” she explains. That said, expressing her utter happiness with her three boys — Jamie, Beau, and the couple’s 4 ½-year-old son Charley William — is a bit of a taboo for the 34-year-old, who prefers to keep her feelings private.

“I love Jamie to bits and I adore my boys — but I always think that when you talk about something that’s very good in your life, if it goes wrong…”

With reasons to want to protect her life, Louise shares that her journey to creating her family of four was not an easy road to travel; Years after trying to conceive her first child, she was diagnosed with endometriosis. “Finding out you can’t have children takes a bit of your femininity away. It’s an odd feeling, like you’ve completely under-achieved, which is not what I’m good at dealing with,” she says.

Despite her battle and her doctor’s warnings that her dreams of pregnancy may never be fulfilled, Louise discovered she was expecting her son shortly after undergoing laser surgery for her endometriosis. Managing to quickly become pregnant with Beau, the proud mama has finally reached a level of peace. “I think I’ve just got to that stage in life where no matter what happens to me, I’ve got these two amazing little men in my life,” she reveals.

“I’m just so happy. But I never take it for granted.”

Hexbugs: Let The Infestation Begin

Hexbugs ($10-20) are “micro robotic creatures” that respond to sound, lights and objects in their path. Their little legs move and they skitter around until they run into something with their delicate, wire antennae, then they back away, make a turn and try again. These aren’t really for the little kids, but my 3 1/2-year-old son and my “mostly golden retriever” love them. The crab even hides from a flashlight beam in a dark room and races away to a dark hidey hole. While they remind me of the cockroaches we had in my college dorm, the “creepy factor” is really minimal. They’re intriguing little creatures that are surprisingly smart.

Jaime Pressly Says She Shed Her Skin For Motherhood

Andy Fossum/Startracks

If there was ever a defining moment in Jaime Pressly‘s life, the event would have to be the birth of her son, Dezi James. Leaving her past behind her, life for Jaime began for the second time only 22 months ago when the first-time mom welcomed her baby boy, she tells Ryan Seacrest during his radio show. “It changed everything, it was dramatic,” she says. “It’s totally life changing — there’s the life before your child and there’s the life after your child — it’s kind of like you shed your old skin.”

Unfortunately for Jaime and her ex-fiancé Eric Calvo, aka DJ Eric Cubiche, the life they imagined for themselves did not pan out, as the pair announced their split after calling off their engagement before Christmas. While Jaime admits that her demanding schedule matched with Eric’s increasing popularity that had him traveling the globe certainly put strains on the relationship, she openly shares that their mutual separation was not due to a lack of effort on their part. “You know, we tried, [but] things happen,” she explains.

“After you have a child, things change. It gets very difficult to try to make it work with your significant other because you forget that there were the two of you before there was the three of you. It’s really difficult to not just focus on the child and have everything be about the child, but also focus and take the time out to still be a couple.”

Now living her life as a single mother, the 31-year-old admits that the road she is on is far from easy; Making the workload more manageable is having a strong support system in Eric. Crediting him with being a “great father” who spends as much time as possible with Dezi, Jaime admits that the parents have become a “team” for the sake of their son. “We’re very close and really just focused on being good parents and taking care of Dezi and making sure he’s happy,” she reveals.

While Jaime and Eric have put aside their differences in an effort to raise Dezi together, the actress admits to witnessing her life become one that she had never imagined. “You don’t go into a relationship with someone and plan a child knowing that you’re not going to be together in the end. That was never the plan,” she says.

“The plan was to have a baby and to try to stay together. You never know in the future what will happen, but things happen and it didn’t work out. We’re still dear friends and have been for eleven years and very close and still love each other. It is what it is.”

Jaime’s new movie I Love You, Man is in theaters Friday.

Jennifer Lopez: Twins Had a 'Good Time' at Their Birthday Party

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

A baby’s first word is a memory that will forever be engraved in a parent’s heart, and while many are delighted to simply witness their child’s developing skills, it’s an added thrill to hear their name babbled first! Luckily for singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, the benefit of having twins — Maximilian ‘Max’ David and Emme Maribel, 13 months Sunday — allowed for both parents to take part in that milestone. As Max eagerly said ‘dada’ first, Jennifer jokes with Access Hollywood that she was relieved to hear her little girl say ‘mama!’

“Her first word was mama. I was real mad because Max was first and I was like, ‘Okay, dada? MAMA!’ He’s like,’DADA!’”

Recently celebrating another milestone — the twins’ first birthday on February 22nd — Jennifer and Marc opened their home to close family and friends for the special occasion. While first birthdays are infamously seen as a party for the parents, the 39-year-old reveals that Max and Emme were anxious to join in on the fun. “You don’t think they’re going to enjoy their party, [that] they’re going to be in their own worlds,” Jennifer says. “They had such a good time for one-year-olds!”

With friendly entertainment that included a moon bounce — enjoyed by both children and adults alike! — a clown and sno cones, Jennifer shares that their “awesome” party was a “cute,” low-key celebration. According to the singer, the event was far from the extravaganza reported by the media! “It was not mommy dearest, okay. We didn’t have a carnival in the backyard!” she laughs.

Despite their love for jumping on the moon bounce, Jennifer admits that come cake time, Max and Emme had their attention on the sweets and were all about digging right in! “I let them put their hands in the cake. They were eating it and smushing it in their mouths,” she recalls. “I was like, ‘Okay, this is not good. We gotta stop this!’” As for singing the traditional happy birthday tune, Jennifer laughs that she and Marc do things no different than any other family.

“I mean, we weren’t harmonizing or anything like that. It was very back in the day, back home…Real monotone just like everybody does it.”

Looking forward to getting her music career back on track, Jennifer realizes that the days of fulfilling her work commitments while her twins stay home is inevitable in the near future. “I have to start thinking about traveling without them and that’s a big traumatizing thing for me now,” she admits. “I’m going to learn. I’m going to have to learn how to balance it.”

From the sound of things, Jennifer may be sharing her time on the road in the future with her budding little stars! Revealing that Emme loves posing in front of the camera at her mom’s photo shoots, the proud mama also reveals that her baby boy has inherited his father’s strong voice. “I don’t know if [Max] is going to sing, but he has the biggest, loudest voice just like his dad,” she says.

Jenna Jameson Names Twins Jesse and Journey

Tiffany Rose/WireImage

Update: Jenna and Tito have released the names and weights of their newborn sons to Us Weekly in their latest issue. Jesse Jameson Ortiz weighed in at 4 lbs., while brother Journey Jette Ortiz was 4 lbs., 11 oz.

Originally posted March 16th: Jenna Jameson and UFC star Tito Ortiz are proud parents to twin boys, her rep confirms to Us Weekly. The former adult film star, 34, delivered her sons this morning, Monday, March 16th in Newport Beach, Calif. Despite being premature, the twins are “in very good health.”

Announcing the pregnancy in August and confirming it was twins the following month, Jenna was overjoyed to be expecting after previous fertility battles. “I can’t even express the extreme serenity that came over me once I saw my children inside me,” she said. “It has been my dream to have children for an extremely long time, and I truly feel like finally… the time is right and God has blessed me. I have never felt more like a woman, or more alive.”

Jenna told CBB her official due date was May 3rd, but she and Tito expected the twins some time in April — “you know how twins are!” If true, that would make the boys seven weeks early.
