Parminder Nagra Can't Wait for the 'Celebration of a New Life'

Howard Wise/JPI

The due date is nearing for ER‘s Parminder Nagra, who revealed during an interview with US Weekly that her little one is set to arrive at the “end of May, beginning of June.” As Parminder prepares for motherhood, she says she’s most looking forward to “the celebration of a new life.” The whole experience so far has been “miraculous” for the actress, while thinking that “somebody is wriggling around in there, that is due to come out fairly soon, but it’s not even from out of town or anything, it’s right there,” Parminder shares, while holding her belly. “It’s hard to get your head around until it actually happens to you.”

One thing Parminder didn’t have to worry about during her pregnancy was planning a baby shower, because husband James Stenson took care of all the details. “He’s taken the responsibility of it out of my hands, which is actually quite nice,” notes the actress. Guests of the shower most likely participated in a onesie decoration craft, as Parminder identified it as her favorite activity at friend’s showers she’d attended previously.

“I love it when the little onesies come out, and everybody gets to decorate the little onesie. They personalize it and that’s something you would have forever. It would be something you could hand down to your child and say ‘Look, so and so decorated this for you.’ I think that’s such a lovely, personal thing.”

Baby on the way is the first child for Parminder and James, who married in January.

Erbaviva Quease-Ease Lip Balm: It Ain't Easy Being Queasy!

I’m not pregnant (seriously, Mom!) but I’ve found an amazing new nausea remedy for my friends who are. Erbaviva’s Quease-Ease Lip Balm ($9) is an all-natural, organic, no-bad-stuff lip balm that uses oils of peppermint, rosemary, ginger and lavender to alleviate nausea. Shea butter moisturizes and protects and something makes your lips tingle like you just ate spicy food. I wish I’d had this when I suffered through a painful business dinner at Ye Olde Crab Shack before I told anyone I was expecting my first son. I might have actually been able to come out of the bathroom! Quease-Ease Lip Balm is tiny enough to slip into your pocket and nobody will suspect a thing.

Vegas is Home for the Osmonds

Bauer Griffin

Following her stint on Dancing with the Stars three seasons ago, singer Marie Osmond joined forces with her brother Donny Osmond to perform at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. When she agreed to take the stage in Las Vegas, the 49-year-old knew that the only way that it would work was if she brought her family with her. Marie packed up and moved to Las Vegas with her six youngest children — Rachel Lauren, 19, Michael Brian, 17, Brandon Warren, 12, Brianna Patricia, 11, Matthew Richard, 9 and Abigail Michelle, 6.

Prior to agreeing to do the show, Marie checked to make sure that the community the family would be living in would be a good one. “Where I live in Las Vegas, it feels more like Orange County than the Strip. It is a very nice family community,” says Marie, adding that “I had to know this to be a great place for my children.” Now that the Donny & Marie show has been extended for two more years, Marie is also turning her focus to creating a new television talk show. However, she will not be moving to the West or East coast, but instead will keep her family based in Vegas because “I am a single mom.”

“It is important I am with them in the morning to get them off to school. While they are in school, I will go do the show and be home when they get back. I can give them dinner and put them to bed and then head off to the Flamingo to do my show. So, we are sure it is Vegas.”

Marie is not only a performer, but she is also a writer. After suffering through postpartum depression, Marie partnered with Marcia Wilkie and Dr. Judith Moore to write the book Behind the Smile in 1999. In her interview with Los Angeles Times, Marcia was asked if she agreed with Tom Cruise‘s statements regarding the use of anti-depressants to overcome postpartum depression, to which she replied that “My book was way before that. For me, all I could do was get out of bed, wash my face and go back to bed.” However, “I think nutrition has a lot to do with depression. But I also believe if you can’t get out of bed, if your life is darker than dark, you need something to help you through. So I can’t say I agree with everything he said.”

Marie is also mom to Stephen James, 25, and Jessica Marie, 21.

Amy Adams Will Keep Family on the Smaller Side

Michael Germana /SSI Photo/Landov

Actress Amy Adams knows what it is like to be surrounded by family, as she has seven brothers and sisters! For that reason that the 34-year-old doesn’t think that she and her fiancé, actor and artist Darren Le Gallo, will have a big family. “I didn’t like having seven siblings when I was growing up,” she remembers. “I love it now. But it was just a lot. It was hard to find alone time. Now I see my siblings as often as I can.”

The Enchanted actress does “want to have a family” but doesn’t think she could handle a large one.

“I probably won’t have a big family. I can barely manage my own life! I don’t know how people do it. I give mothers, professional mothers, a lot of credit. “

Amy can next be seen in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, set to be released in theaters on May 22nd.
