Tim Allen Welcomes Daughter Elizabeth

Andy Fossum/Startraks

It’s a girl for the former Home Improvement star! Actor Tim Allen and his wife Jane welcomed their first child together on Saturday, March 28th in Los Angeles, they reveal to Entertainment Tonight. Daughter Elizabeth Allen weighed 5 lbs, 13 oz. A statement released to announce baby girl’s arrival reads,

“The couple is thrilled at the arrival of their new baby and are doing great.”

Elizabeth joins Tim’s older daughter Katherine, 19, from a previous marriage. The pregnancy was announced in January. In February, Tim, 55, revealed they were expecting a baby girl, but admitted that fatherhood the second time around will not be any easier! “The older you get, the less you know,” he joked.

How shocking! A classic girl’s name?! From a celebrity!?
Congrats to the Allens – what a lovely little name for a girl who surely will be beautiful.

- Mrs. R. on

Wow! I can’t believe a celeb actually named their child something not totally weird! Elizabeth is so much nicer than a fruit or a New York burrough.

- Kate on

congrats!!!

- moviefan on

Was this little one early? My prayers are with her that she is healthy and happy. Congrats to the new parents!

- Elle on

What a pretty name, Elizabeth and so normal too. It seems to be a trend, that celebs are following, to have an everyday name for their child, especially since for a while there was a competetion to go for more unsual names.

- robinepowell on

Congrats to him and his wife. I love the name Elizabeth, it’s a good classic name.

Both daughters are named after famous Queens – I have an aunt and uncle who did that, with daughters Katherine, Elizabeth and Victoria. Very cool!

- Ratty on

That’s a beatiful name, congratulations to them.

A baby girl with a normal name, which is my middle name! Well done Tim and Jane!

- Helen on

That was quick – only seemed like not long ago the pregnancy was announced. Was she early? Seems to be judging by her tiny size.

- J on

Congratulations Tim and Jane on your tiny bundle of joy! I wish you all the best in the future, after all 19 years is quite the difference but I am sure it is like riding a bike..lol.

- Mommy of 3 on

Congratulations! I love the name, very simple and very pretty. It fits well with Katherine.

She was very close to 6 lbs, not that tiny. I weighed 5 lbs even at birth and was able to go home within a few days. :)

- Stephany on

Don’t care for the name, but congratulations! :)

- daniela on

Awww, I love the name Elizabeth but I’m slightly biased as it’s my own name. :) Glad to hear a celebrity name their child that.

- Eliza on

We attend the same church and they were missing this Sunday. I think she was early because she was not that big two Sundays ago. That sunday the Priest said to everyone in the congregation..”Your Miracle is coming soon”…I guess the Allen’s took that literaly! Congrats and God Bless!

- MsFleurdeLys on

as an Elizabeth myself, i absolutely love her name. =D

- EB on

wow. i actually think that normal baby names are becoming a trend for celebrities!
anyway, congratulations a beautiful baby girl!

- Jackie on

I know two sisters named Katherine and Elizabeth:)

- Serena on

Aww congrats to the couple! I honestly didn’t expect her to deliver this early. I thought prehaps mid April for sure. But I love the name! Elizabeth and Katherine go nice together. I bet she’s a cutie :)

- Kelly on

Does Elizabeth Allen have a middle name? Elizabeth Allen is a
beautiful name. Congratulations to Jane and Tim.

- Lola on

Congrats. I read the new this morning. Elizabeth, nice and classy beautiful name :) It never goes out of style.

- Mia on

To answer those who said they thought she was early, according to the calender on this site before she was born, she was due the week of the 15th. So she was a bit late, just on the smaller side.

Katherine and Elizabeth are both very classical and go well together! I would probably never use them myself, not because I don’t like them but simply due to the fact that they both seem to be popular lately. My names Sarah, so I know how it is having 3 other people in my class with the same name.

Good luck to Tim and his whole family. I have always loved Tim and they are truely blessed!

We actually didn’t know her due date! Just spring, so we stuck her in the middle of the calendar. ;)

As I see it, Tim (the tool man) Taylor, will be super charging the baby stroller with Big truck wheels, a turbo jet engine and an air horn! Arh, arh, arh!

- Lynne K. on

I went to high school with Jane & her sisters. They were a lovely family & I’m glad to hear they have a new addition. I wish Tim & Jane all the best! Being a mother is the best thing that ever happened to me – I wish the same for Jane.

- Lisa L. from B-ball on

I agree that Jane wasn’t neccesarily early. I actually weighed a few ounces LESS than Elizabeth did when I was born, and I was on time (well, I was born two weeks before I was due, but that’s still considered to be in the “normal” range.). :)

- CelebBabyLover on

Another reason to like Tim Allen, he chooses (or at least he helped choose) a NORMAL name for his kids.

What a tiny little girl! I hope she didn’t come too early.
