Yo Gabba Gabba! Books

Sometimes you turn on the children’s TV then tune it out completely. Sometimes the kid’s TV pulls you into the room no matter what you were trying to accomplish while the kids were transfixed. Yo Gabba Gabba is that kind of show. Silly, random, and funky as all get out, it’s a bright cheerful ode to dancing and danceable music… with maybe a little vintage Banana Splits TV and the band Dee-lite thrown in? They’re branching out and have a whole line of books as bright and cheerful as the show. Books with lift-the-flaps, board books, activity books with stickers, even pre-readers—the creators have covered every age group. So when you’re done dancing with Brobee, sit down and read a book!

Two of our favorite books are:

Welcome to Gabba Land ($8) looks just like DJ Lance’s boombox and even has a handle for travel. Open it to find a mat for playing with the included Gabba paper dolls.

Party in My Tummy ($8) is based on the popular Gabba song. Lift the flaps to find out what everyone’s bringing to the party.

We have the “Party in my Tummy” flap book for our 15m old. We don’t have cable but a relative bought it for her. The flaps are a lot more difficult to lift compared to other books we have as they sit inside a groove. It’s a lot more difficult for our daughter to lift the flaps compared to Karen Katz series we have.
