Reese Witherspoon No Longer a 'Gigantic Dork' to Kids

Reuters/Landov

Although her two children normally think of her as a “gigantic dork,” Reese Witherspoon says Ava Elizabeth, 9 ½, and Deacon Reese, 5, are singing a different tune now that their mom has wrapped her first animated film. The two are “rabid” about Monsters vs. Aliens — and Reese is reveling in it. “I’m really enjoying this moment,” she admits. “They are so in love with me right now…It’s great .”

“They wake up in the morning like, ‘When can we see this movie? When is this movie going to come out?’ My daughter goes, ‘Just how many people can I bring to the screening? I invited the entire third grade!’”

Last weekend the Academy Award-winning actress marked her 33rd birthday at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, which opens Friday, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. “I think it is a great thing, to be able to be doing things with my kids and having them be proud of me,” she muses. “It’s like, what’s better than feeling you’ve accomplished things in life?”

Ava and Deacon are Reese’s children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
