The post article about the illegal adoptions bugs me. These couples clearly knew that what they were doing was against the law. Blaming the embassy for warning Egypt is pretty low and trafficking children is even lower. Even if they had the best intentions, they should have chosen a country that permits adoptions. The #1 rule of international adoption is to respect the country where your child is from. People like them just make it harder for honest, law-abiding people to make their way through the adoption process.

i come from Jordan and adoption is illegal here too..that kills me because my dream is to adopt a child..i think these laws should be changed many many children need loving homes and many ppl are willing to provide it.

Thanks for the link to the NY Mag article on homebirth. It was fascinating and the comments under it were a very intelligent discussion between differing opinions on the subject.

I was interviewed for the NY Magazine article on home birth because I used the midwife being profiled, Cara Muhlhahn, for the birth of my own child. I found the story to be quite unfair and manipulative and from my experience with the reporter I feel that he had a serious personal bias against home birth.
