Nicole and Joel Step Out for UNICEF

Expectant mama Nicole Richie and her proud-looking boyfriend Joel Madden step out Monday to attend a fundraiser for UNICEF’s Tap Project, which helps provide clean and accessible water to children around the world, hosted by the couple’s Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation at Hollywood hotspot MyHouse.

The pair used a little humor — and twin brother Benji – to confront rumors that they’re expecting multiples. “She already has twins,” Benji joked, referring to himself and Joel, while Nicole added, “I have twins. People popped out of me yesterday.”

Nicole, 27 and Joel, 30, expect their second child in late August/early September. The new baby will join big sister Harlow Winter Kate, 14 months.

I’m just not a fan of Nicole’s hair this style.

But I AM super excited about her future arrival I think it’s going to be a girl (or boy/girl twins – LOL!), and I cannot WAIT to hear the name(s)!!!

I like her hair, just not crazy about the color. Fix your roots! I know, you’ll all attack me, but I kept up my highlights for all four kids and they turned out fine. As did my hairstylist’s.

I like her dress, it’s really different but it works.

I highly doubt they’re having twins, they don’t run in her family, Joel is already a twin, and they didn’t use fertility treatments. She looks the perfect size for a late summer baby.

although twins is possible, I don’t think its 2, it looks to be only 1 baby in there. if you remember all of the recent twin pregnancies, when they announced they were expecting, at 3-4 months they looked huge already. She looks to be about 4 months along and only 1. They look very cute and happy

i don’t think it’s twins at all since i would expect her to show already especially as tiny as she is. i have twins and i showed as early as 3 months along. as for twins they only run in the mother’s side of the family, it doesn’t make a difference if it’s on the dad’s side.

i do love her dress but i’m not liking her hair at all.

Steph, it runs only in the mother’s side? My (male) cousin had triplets (all boys) and it’s his FATHER’s grandmother (my great-grandmother) who had triplets (all boys) too…

jude – A woman’s body decides if it’s going to ovulate more than one egg per cycle which results in fraternal twins. If one of the eggs splits then they turn into identical twins. It has nothing to do with the male sperm/genes.
