Rain or Shine Kids B Blanket

03/15/2009 at 05:00 PM ET

Rain or Shine Kids’ B Blanket ($36) is a new line of all-weather blankets that are perfect for strolling.

They have two grosgrain ribbon ties that fasten the blanket to the stroller, car seat or baby carrier. One side is water-resistant and the other side is fleece. They come in cute patterns and colors for less than $40 and they’ll never drag on the floor and get grungy. We use ours all the time.

Seems like a good idea in theory. I know fresh air is great for babies but with this on I would feel like a walking circus tent.

THAT looks ridiculous!

She looks like she is about to perform a puppet theatre!

this makes me laugh.

These are great blankets. We used ours all of the time with our stroller and we’ll use it in the future to cover a baby in a carrier for an extra layer of warmth. The ties are a stroke of genius.

Or, you could sew two ribbons on to an existing or less expensive blanket.

I agree – it looks silly on the woman wearing her baby. When I wore DS in my sling, I would just tuck a blanket around his body.

I’m sorry, but if a woman walked by me wearing this thing, I would have to walk away and start laughing. That’s just absurd.

“ties are a stroke of genius”. Wow, sew any two ribbons on to an existing blanket an you are genius. It’s so easy to be a genius now days, all you have to know – how to tie a ribbon.Indeed.

I think this is a great idea. We take our girl out in all kinds of weather — it’s just a fact of daily life — and as long as she is warm and dry, I don’t care if I look silly. Then your hands are free for other more important things — bags, metro cards, the dog leash.. whatever.

This is hilarious! No offense, but she (and any other parent who wore this) would make me laugh out loud. So silly.

Practical, I guess, but it looks so ridiculous!

i also think this looks ridiculous! I would think someone could design a cover that is a bit more stylish.

It would make anyone look fat!!!

LOL! Glad I’m not the only one who took a look at that picture and thought, “What THE…???” 😀

I’m sure it would look a lot less weird if we saw a pic of that blanket on a stroller. By the comments on here, it doesn’t seem that there will be too many mommas using it on their carrier!

I actually have one of these blankets…not sure what’s going on in this picture (maybe they are trying to show the size of it or the details?)but it doesn’t look like that when I use it with my carrier. I tie it on and tuck it around my baby so it fits snug. I can use that top part over her head if the weather is bad or tuck it around the top of the carrier so she doesn’t slobber all over it. They actually work great and look much cooler in person. I even use it on my car seat & my stroller.

Interesting!!

I’m actually surprised that people think this looks funny… I have a couple of similar covers that I use on my carriers and I love them. And people approach me all the time to ask where I got them, etc. I think this carrier cover is a great idea and maybe this photo just didn’t do it justice.

I agree with you, Stephanie. I don’t have this specific b-blanket, but I have a couple of the other blankets that are made of plush fabric on one side and has the water/wind resistant backing on the other side and I get compliments on them all the time. I think they are genius, they stay put on the car seat/stroller with the tie ribbons and my little one is shielded from the wind and rain. As an outdoors enthusiast these blankets could not have been more perfect for me.They are great as towels when you are on the beach too. I have given away a few as gifts to friends who just had a baby and they are just as much in love with these blankets as I am.

The picture does look a little silly. I have the blue b blanket and I LOVE it. Especially the water resistant backing and the fact that it ties on. It’s really great. Don’t let that picture deter you from getting this blanket. Mine doesn’t look like that at all when it’s tied on to our Bjorn.
