White Sox Pitcher Mark Buehrle Welcomes Daughter Brooklyn Jayden

It’s a girl for Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle and wife Jamie! Their daughter Brooklyn Jayden Buehrle was born Tuesday, March 3rd in Missouri, where the couple resides.

One day before, Mark, 29, left his team in order to attend the birth – which was timed perfectly; Manager Ozzie Guillen said he intended to skip Mark’s next scheduled start in order to rest his arm. Although Mark said he hoped to stay loose by “playing catch” during his six-day paternity leave, baseball was going to be low on his list of priorities! ”I’ll be there for my family,” he said.

Brooklyn joins big brother Braden David, 19 months, at home.

Everyone loves the name Jaden. Its gonna be like when I was in school and every one was named Christina, Crystal, Ashley, Michael or Jason. For some reason whenever I hear a name is popular it scraches it off the list of options for me.

Congrats to Mark and Jaime! I read a bunch of silly quotes about how his team mates were poking fun at him when he came back to Spring Training. I’m so excited for baseball!
