As the mother of a three-year-old my diaper bag no longer carries diapers but all the other diaper bag staples remain: wipes, snack, change of clothes, etc. I need a bag that is roomy enough to carry my mom-items but also stylish enough that I can walk around with it in public and not feel as if I am carrying a big sign that says “Sippy Cup Inside!!!” The Pinnington Bag is exactly what I was looking for.
These bohemian-inspired bags are hand-made of luxurious fabrics. Each bag takes roughly five hours to make! The line includes three collections — the Emily Messenger Bag, the August Ruffled Bag and the Anna Rouched Bag — in two different sizes (I recommend the large if you are still relying on changing pads). All the bags have a wipeable interior and include a changing pad (also wipeable).
I test drove the August bag. Despite the two outer pockets (presumably there for bottles or sippy cups) this bag does not look like your typical diaper bag. Even in this era of fashion-forward diaper bags, the August stands out. I originally thought that this bag would annoy me for two reasons — one, the fact that there was no division in the main interior pocket and two, that the strap was not expandable. I quickly found out that the side pockets on the interior made it so that I didn’t need to worry about the middle pocket and that the strap was just the right size.
I honestly loved this bag and had a hard time parting with it when my test run was over. The price may deter you (Pinnington bags run in the $300+ range) but this is one splurge that I think is worth it.
