Brr! With her breath visible in the air, Michelle Williams gives a bundled-up Matilda Rose, 3, a lift while on their way to get morning beverages — coffee for mom, orange juice for daughter — on Thursday in Brooklyn.

The pair recently returned from a trip out to (sufficiently warmer!) California.

Matilda wears Land’s End’s 3-in-1 System Squall Jacket in Berry ($50).

There is just something so cute about bundled up kids.

I love that big chunky knit hat with the long scarfs. I think I’ll have to look for a pattern for something like to make for my son next winter!

I love seeing these two on their morning jaunts but have to wonder why Michelle doesn’t just buy a coffee maker and a jug of orange juice for their home. I know I wouldn’t want to deal with all that bundling if I could just stay snuggled up at home.

Either way, they always look adorable!

I like that Michelle doesn’t seem tOo spend an outrageous amount of money on Mathilda’s clothes. Rich or not, I think everyone should be sensible!

My favorite mother daughter duo! Right there with Isla and Olive. Matilda is so precious!

Does Michelle go out for coffee every day? They always seem to be on an endless coffee trip. I like the practical coat, too. It makes a lot more sense to dress a child this way, even if money is no object!

Such a beautiful little girl! I absolutely love this mother-daughter duo. Though it has been said time and time again, it is just such a shame that Heath is no longer here to watch his wonderful little daughter grow up. It must be so bittersweet for Michelle to see so much of Heath in Matilda everyday.

Love Matilda’s jacket…very practical and wallet friendly, yet still cute!

I just love seeing pictures of this adorable mother-daughter duo! I don’t really know why, since all the other celebrity moms seem to be incredible with their children in photos, but Michelle definitely looks like the best mother in my opinion. She seems so down-to-earth,and I think that it is just wonderful to see the close connection between these two. Despite all of the tragedy they have gone through in the past year, it is always nice to see a smile on Matilda’s face. Clearly Michelle is doing a wonderful job raising this beautiful little girl. I’m sure Heath would be very proud. 🙂

I just can’t get over the fact how much Matilda looks like her father! It’s so sad. So beautiful. It will be interesting to see how she will look like when older, or an adult.

There is not one time that I have seen even the slightest bit of Michelle in Matilda… She is all her daddy, God bless her!

Maybe as she gets older she will change and inherit a couple of Michelle’s traits? (Not that it’s a bad thing if she doesn’t!)

I too, was also wondering about the endless coffee trips every morning. But I’m betting it’s “their thing.” Just a nice way to spend some quality time without distractions of spongebob, toys, & etc. Plus, they’re city girls. It’s a lot easier to do that in a big city. It’s just a quick jaunt to the corner and back. Unlike the ‘burbs, where car seats, traffic, and fighting for a parking space at Starbucks are the norm. haha!

Maybe Michelle likes to start their day with a trip outside every day. I know that I get a lot more accomplished during a day and feel a lot more awake if I get out first thing in the morning, even if it’s only a quick trip. I think she is aware of the fact that she could buy a coffee maker and some orange juice, she just chooses not to. I don’t think it’s really any of our business.

And yes, Matilda is gorgeous!

I think it’s nice to see that they go out every morning. It’s a nice tradition. They spend some quality time and get a bit of fresh air.

Honestly, could you ever make a coffee as yummy as Starbucks coffee at home? It’s nearly impossible. As someone else pointed out, they live in a huge city so Starbucks is probably just around the corner.

Matilda is a very sweet little girl but I’m not a huge fan of the way she’s dressed. Of course it’s none of my business and doesn’t really matter but it’s just not how I would dress my daughter. Still I think the color of the jacket suits her very well.
