David Spade Opens Up About Daughter Harper

During a Monday visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, David Spade offered up his first public comments on daughter Harper, 7-months. Although he is no longer dating Harper’s mom — Playboy Playmate Jillian Grace, who lives in Missouri with their baby girl – David said he is “getting used to” fatherhood. “It’s going well,” David revealed, adding:

“She’s starting to kind of know… not really who I am yet, but she’s getting it.”

The 44-year-old actor then showed off a picture of Harper, which was taken over the weekend. “I gave her a cell phone for dinner,” he joked. “That’s an action shot!”

David went on to share that he plans to visit Harper in Missouri next month.

LaKisha Jones Expecting Second Child

Kevin Winter/Getty Images

As a competitor during American Idol‘s sixth season, LaKisha Jones earned fame and fans as the single mom with a big voice. Now LaKisha, 29, is no longer single — she married financial advisor Larry Davis last October — but she’s double the mom! She’ll welcome her second child — a sibling for 6-year-old daughter Brionne — in August.

The baby will follow the release of her aptly named first solo CD, So Glad I’m Me, out on May 19th. “When I think about all the goodness in my life right now,” LaKisha said, “everyday I think ‘I’m so glad I’m me!’”

Adding to their family was important to LaKisha, who says that Brionne started calling Larry ‘Dad’ even before their wedding. “The way he interacts with my daughter and treats her as his own…I love that,” the songstress, who finished fourth on the series, told PEOPLE in October. “I may not have won American Idol, but I have won because I’m able to provide a better life for me and my daughter and that’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

The first single off of So Glad I’m Me, “Let’s Go Celebrate,” is currently available on Amazon.com.

Jerry O'Connell: The Twins Are Going to 'Walk All Over Me!'

Star Pix/INF

New father Jerry O’Connell may very well find himself eating his words in the near future! In an interview before welcoming his fraternal twin daughters, Jerry protectively proclaimed he would only allow Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose to date men of high standing; Now it seems that he may have spoken too soon. “I really thought I was going to be a very strict father about what they could wear, when they could go out, and all that,” he says. What the proud papa failed to take into account, however, was the power of his baby girls’ smiles.

“But now that they’re starting to smile at me, I just know they’re going to walk all over me.”

While the 35-year-old hates being away from the girls — after a few hours of not seeing them he “miss[es] them so much” — for now Jerry need not worry about the thought of separation. With his wife Rebecca Romijn filming her new series The Witches of Eastwick, Jerry and the twins have set up camp on set in order for the babies to continue nursing. “I watch the kids at work. It’s good — they like coming to another place,” he shares. Although the arrangement works perfectly for the family of four, Jerry laughs that not all are comfortable with the plans! “[Rebecca] had a kissing scene today and it must have been weird for the other actor to know she has kids and a husband nearby!”

Life with two 3-month-olds hasn’t been all fun, explains Jerry, who admits “nothing prepared me for what it would be like to raise twin girls.” Case in point? The girls’ inability to coordinate their schedules! “When one quiets down, the other one starts up,” he notes. However, despite caring for his daughters during the day, when it comes to the night feedings, Jerry agrees that Rebecca seems to have it the hardest.

“At night, I am sleeping more than my wife — who is a saint. She has to get up.”

Diana Krall Keeps Her Focus On Family

George Pimentel/WireImage

Once able to dedicate her undivided attention to her music career, pianist and singer Diana Krall has had to adjust her schedule to accommodate her two latest loves in life: her 2-year-old twin boys Dexter Henry Lorcan and Frank Harlan James. Admitting that she no longer has the abundance of time to work on her music, the trade off, Diana tells USA WEEKEND, seems to be a stronger sense of focus. “Especially now that my children are a little older and really interactive, I think I’m doing better work,” she says.

While the 44-year-old may think her new album reflects the person she has become, she laughs that there are no two better critics of her work than her own little boys. Although Frank and Dexter enjoy listening to their mom and singer/songwriter dad Elvis Costello show off their skills on the piano — “it’s just normal for Mommy and Daddy to be practicing” — they are famous for letting their parents know when they have heard enough!

“They have strong opinions on what songs they like, that’s for sure. If they don’t like something, they tell you to stop. They’re a tough audience sometimes.”

Catching only a taste of their mom’s music, the twins will have to wait until they are a bit older to hear the album in it’s entirety. First, Diana says, they must master the classics. “They’ve gotta learn ‘Wheels on the Bus’ before show tunes and the Great American Songbook,” she jokes.

Diana’s new album Quiet Nights is in stores now.

Bruce Glikas/FilmMagic

There’s a baby on the way later this year for Private Practice‘s Taye Diggs and his wife, Broadway star Idina Menzel! The news comes as no surprise as both Taye and Idina have talked about about their desire to start a family.

The Tony-award winning actress revealed that children were “definitely in the plans” after promotion for her third album was over. “I’ll settle down and start popping out some babies,” she said at the time. She noted that Taye was ready for kids “the day I met him. He’s always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he’s very comfortable around children.”

Taye, 38, and Idina, 37, were married January 11, 2003 after having dated for seven years. The pair met after having co-starred in the Broadway production of Rent.

William H. Macy Offers Advice for New Parents

Anna Pocaro/London Entertainment/Splash News Online

As one of the rare success stories in Hollywood, actors William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman know a thing or two about how to make a marriage work. Tops on their list? Keeping their relationship a priority after the birth of their two daughters Sofia Grace, 8 ½, and Georgia Grace, 7.

“When my pals have kids, I look at them and say ‘Look, these kids are almost bullet-proof. They can take anything, but I tell you what’s on the critical list: your relationship with your wife,’” he explains to OK! “So the first thing you’d better do is make a date as soon as that baby comes.”

“You’d better make a date and take your wife out within a month – whether you want to, or not – and you can’t talk about the kid. And you’d better have a romantic weekend within two months because it tears couples apart, these babies do.”

Adding that he and Felicity “have been really good about finding time” for each other, Bill says that the couple enjoy quick one and two-day getaways “four, five, six times a year.”

William, 59, and Felicity, 46, were married in 1997.
