Ruby Maguire Gets Groceries

INF

Well, not quite — there are no groceries to be found at Coldwater Canyon Park!  The 2-year-old strolled along with her empty cart while enjoying a park playdate with Sawyer Gilbert Adler on Saturday in Beverly Hills.

Ruby, who will become a big sister later this spring, “seems really excited right now,” mom Jennifer Meyer Maguire recently told E! News. “She’s loving it. She’s really into the belly and it growing and her baby dolls. Ruby’s not really jealous. She just loves being around people, and this will be like having another little playmate.”

This will be the second child for Jen and husband Tobey Maguire.

Ruby pushes a Just Like Home Metal Shopping Cart by Toys R Us ($22).

Kelly Rutherford: We 'Keep It Together' For the Kids

Splash News Online

Ready to put their past behind them and focus on their children, Kelly Rutherford and German businessman Daniel Giersch are recovering from the difficult January custody case and are looking forward to the birth of their second child — a girl —  in June, the actress reveals to Us Weekly. Describing the ordeal as a “challenge,” Kelly notes that the media attention does little to remedy the situation at hand. “When [the battle] is in the public, it’s really hard,” she says.

Granted permission by the judge to take the ex-couple’s 2-year-old son Hermès Gustaf Daniel to New York City for the duration of her show’s filming, the 40-year-old Gossip Girl star is hopeful she and Daniel — for the sake of their kids – will manage to overcome any hard feelings. “When you have kids, you have to keep it together somehow,” says Kelly, adding,

“People say things they don’t mean because they’re upset. So I’m hoping we can work it out. We have kids together. We have a beautiful son together. I think we’re both decent people.”

According to the proud mama, who considers herself “very blessed,” it seems that the pair have already began to put their differences aside as they browse the books for a moniker for their daughter. As the actress reveals the two have “talked about a name we both like,” she shares that pregnancy the second time around, although progressing smoothly, has taken its toll. “I mean, it’s different at 40, with the 2-year-old running around,” she explains. However, Hermès does occasionally settle down for some quiet time with his mommy, taking special time to bond with the baby.

“[Hermès] rubs the belly. He listens in there when she’s kicking. He’s very sweet.”

Sound Off! How Did You Reward Your Children When Potty Training?

Startraks

Potty training. It’s not fun, it’s not easy, but every parent has to do it. So how do you figure out the “right way” to potty train your child? And how do you encourage him or her to get through it, without falling into a vicious task-reward pattern?

We spoke with Tori Spelling last week, who’s currently potty training son Liam Aaron, 22 months, and she raised smart points about rewards. Tori told CBB, “My fear was getting [Liam] to do it and rewarding him – I didn’t want to be that mom who offered him a cookie when he used the bathroom. Because once you start with something like that, you can’t go back.” A CBB reader poll showed that the majority of readers rewarded children with praise and hugs first, stickers second.

So here’s your chance to Sound Off! How did you reward (or not reward) your child during potty training? Do you have tips for those currently potty training children?

Magnus Eisler Celebrates His Second Birthday

Newlyweds Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler, who tied the knot Feb. 7 in San Luis Obispo, threw yet another party this weekend: son Magnus Hart‘s 2-year-old birthday bash.

About 80 guests gathered Sunday at the Treehouse Social Club in Los Angeles for cupcakes from Crumbs Bake Shop and entertainment by singing group The Jumpitz.

“Magnus was in the middle of the dance floor performing with them,” Kristy says of the five-member group, who also sang for Tori Spelling’s son Liam and daughter Stella two weeks ago. “It was over-the-top fun!”

Skating with Celebrities winners Lloyd and Kristy, who lost 45 lbs. in time for her wedding, plan to take a honeymoon at a later date.

“There was so much to do before the wedding,” says the actress. “I didn’t want to crash and burn and end up spending my honeymoon sleeping.”

As for finally being able to call Lloyd her husband: “I like it,” she confirms. “Sometimes I jokingly call him my wife because he’s such a Suzy Homemaker. He’s great at doing the laundry and he’s so good around the house. He’s a wonderful team player.”

Lisa Kudrow Says Son is a Performer

Robert Pitts /Landov

From the sound of things, 10½-year-old Julian Murray Stern has caught the acting bug from mom Lisa Kudrow. In a new interview with Movies.ie, the 45-year-old Friends star says that her son thinks that a career in entertainment “would be fun.” So much so, for her latest movie — Hotel for Dogs, in theaters now — Lisa says Julian was even willing to help mom learn her lines! “He was really good,” she reveals.

“School offers opportunities for him to be in plays and he is a performer. There’s no doubt, whether it’s acting, music, stand-up comedy or talk shows. He loves it. Every school production he is involved in he stands out and he doesn’t do it on purpose. He just gets into this performance zone and he goes.”

Some dreams die hard, however. “But, he wants to own a shopping mall, so that could be his occupation,” Lisa adds.

Julian is her son with husband Michel Stern, a French businessman.
