Emerson Drive's David Pichette Finally Understands Love

Frank Polich/Reuters/Landov

Love is a topic that is used over and over again in country music, but Emerson Drive’s David Pichette never fully appreciated it until he met his wife Jill and they welcomed daughter Emma Victoria three months ago.

“Love, I think I can start understanding it now that I am 31,” he explains. “I don’t think I could’ve understood that when I was in my early 20s.” Now that he is starting to get the concept of love thanks to his family it changes his outlook on everything. “My life out on the road and what I do — everything that I do — has a brand new meaning,” says David.

“I feel where I’m at in my life, with the woman that I’ve found, everything is really — it’s perfect. It’s unbelievable. I found the best mother I could ever find for my baby, and at the same time the love that I have for this little one that is now 50 percent of me that’s in that little girl, it gives a brand new outlook on your life and a brand new meaning.”

The band’s current single is Belong To You. Their next album, Believe, is set to be released on April 9th.

Annie Lennox Keeps Private Life Private

DPA/Landov

Celebrity parents sometimes have a hard time shielding their children from the spotlight and musician Annie Lennox is no different. In a new interview with CNN, she shares that “it hasn’t been too difficult” protecting daughters Lola, 18, and Tali, 15,   from the downside of fame. “Part of my work is public, but I make a distinction between that and who I am as a person in private,” notes Annie, adding that “I was very careful that … I wasn’t telling stories to gossip papers, and showing my life and [my children] were gently kept away from that.”

Protecting her daughters is important to Annie, who admits that after having them “my focus went elsewhere.”

“I had my kids and And I think I’ve changed so much through having children … inside myself. It’s been a kind of evolution and a maturity.”

That maturity lead the 54-year-old to form the SING Campaign, a nonprofit initiative to help fight the HIV pandemic in Africa, in 2007. “I understand what it is for a woman to want to protect their children and give them the best they can,” Annie explains. “And so I identify with that.”

Lola and Tali’s father is Uri Fruchtmann.

Elizabeth Mitchell Solves Son's Temper Tantrums With Fresh Air

Steve Granitz/WireImage

Navigating the rocky road of toddlerhood can be difficult for any mom, but Elizabeth Mitchell has found a fail-safe way to keep 3-year-old Christopher ‘CJ’ Joseph happy — wide open spaces! “He has never had a tantrum outside,” the 38-year-old Lost star tells the January issue of American Baby magazine. “He’s 3, so he certainly has his fair share, but I find that once he’s outside, he’s really happy.” Fortunately Elizabeth’s Seattle-area home with husband Chris Soldevilla is situated on a one acre parcel of land, and the couple take advantage of every inch of space their yard has to offer! “We go out and walk…CJ plays in the stream and in the pond — any little kid can find a world of adventure,” Elizabeth explains. “We have apple trees, and he likes to help me do some of the gardening, the cleanup, and the pruning.”

Elizabeth reveals that she and Chris have different parenting styles: While she is better at keeping her patience and remembering that CJ is still a toddler, Chris gets props for his “unbelievably high energy” and ability to have fun with their son. “There are giggles that come from CJ when he is with Chris that I have just never heard,” Elizabeth says. “They are the most beautiful things ever.” Grandparents are also a big part of CJ’s life, something Elizabeth says she wouldn’t have any other way.

“CJ is a funny, interactive, sweet kid, and I feel that’s because he has been exposed to so many different points of view.”

Having a baby has been good for Elizabeth’s career, in that it has expanded her creative horizons. Calling parents the “makers of magic,” she feels that beyond the practical responsibilities of parenthood it is every mom and dad’s duty to spark that creativity in their children. “Whether or not your child loves all these things, like singing and music, has a lot to do with the way you present them,” Elizabeth says. That’s why most mornings you’ll find CJ engaged in the arts — in one form or another! “Kids need someone fresh — a babysitter, grandparents, whoever — to come in with fun ideas, and then your child’s life is richer for it,” Elizabeth explains. “Chris and I alternate mornings in charge.”

“On my mornings, we get up and I have CJ draw a picture. He has his own little table and pad. And we always listen to music. Sometimes it’s classical, sometimes it’s jazz, sometimes it’s rock — it just depends on what mood we’re in. I like to tell him who the composer is, and then he walks around saying the name because he feels he knows something. He’s like, ‘This is Bach.’ It’s pretty neat.”

Paz Vega Confirms Second Pregnancy, Says First Trimester Was Tough

Prisma/Splash

After months of speculation, Paz Vega confirms she is expecting her second child and admits she is on cloud nine! Thrilled about the upcoming arrival, the Spanish actress — who is four months along – reveals that, while the first trimester certainly took its toll, she is ready to relax and enjoy her growing belly. In an interview with Europa Press, Paz says,

“I’m doing really well. The upsets from the first months have passed — a couple of months that were really hard — and now, to enjoy!”

In an effort to avoid — or at least minimize — sibling rivalry, the 33-year-old reveals she is already including 21-month-old Orson in the process, explaining to him ”that there is a baby in my belly.” Admitting her son is still “very small and doesn’t know what I’m talking about,” Paz is not discouraged as her baby boy lays his hand on her bump and will occasionally stroke it. According to the proud mama, a burgeoning belly may quickly become a common sight for her family! “A pregnancy is a marvelous moment that I would love to repeat and repeat,” she says.

Already lining up future projects, Paz shares she will be back in front of the camera shortly after welcoming the new baby. “I am going to try to recuperate as quickly as possible and start work, well my work is always there,” she says.

Orson and baby-on-the-way are Paz’s children with her husband, Orson Salazar.
