Toy Fair 2009: Dora the Explorer and Hot Wheels Tables and Chairs

I’ve heard about strollers with cupholders, but kids’ tables? On paper it sounds sort of silly but when you think about it, it makes total sense. Kids are constantly spilling their drinks, especially when they’re immersed in another activity. The flip-out cupholders on the Dora the Explorer Table and Chair Set ($70) from Delta will hold their drinks and keep their table dry. The trick will be reminding them to use it!

The Hot Wheels Table and Chair Set ($70), also from Delta, has a center storage bin to store art supplies and toys. Brilliant!

Both will be available in the fall.

Naomi Watts Says Sasha is 'Besotted' With Dad

Fame

If the photos aren’t enough to convince you, make no mistake: Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, 18 ½-months, is a daddy’s boy! “Sasha is totally besotted with his father,” actress Naomi Watts confirmed during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “He calls out for him [at night].” Unfortunately for Sasha, devoted a dad as Liev Schreiber clearly is, expedience is not his strong suit!

“Liev is definitely hands-on and definitely gets up for Sasha…He’s just not as quick. Men don’t move as quickly. Unlike the mothers, who are like [snaps fingers]. They’re right there before the first cry.”

Sasha has been calling out for ‘dada’ more than ever since becoming a big brother to Samuel ‘Sammy’ Kai, 10 weeks. Seeing the new baby nurse every three hours has Sasha thinking that he, too, should be enjoying an overnight snack; When asked by host Jimmy Kimmel if she’s nursing both boys, Naomi was quick to answer in the negative, however.

“Oh, [Sasha]‘s got a full head of teeth now. So, oooh..no.”

Naomi, 40, reveals that Sasha has displayed some jealousy of Sammy. “When we came home from the hospital he had a few reactions,” she shared. To help combat any budding sibling rivalry, Naomi says that she and Liev try to stay “sensitive” to Sasha’s feelings while “indulging” his needs “a little bit more.” Fortunately for Sasha, it doesn’t sound as though his fears are well-founded! “The love is equally divided,” Naomi says. “There is just enough love to go ’round.”

Naomi’s new film The International is in theaters now.

Victoria Recaño On Baby Names, Closet Cleaning, and a Birth Plan

Courtesy Pregnancy Magazine for use on CBB

The long nine months of a pregnancy are often accompanied with an equally long list of justified complaints from the mama-to-be; For The Insider‘s Victoria Recaño, her only complaint is that she doesn’t have any!

Due with her first child — a baby girl — next month, Victoria admits that the pregnancy journey has “been such a great experience so far” and is hopeful she is not living the infamous calm before the storm! “I said I hope it’s an indication of how good the baby’s going to be. We’ll see,” she tells Pregnancy.

Whether her forecast for the future pans out or not, Victoria is focusing her final stages of pregnancy on preparing for the arrival of her daughter. While she and her husband Tom Burwell have yet to finalize any names, Victoria shares that the baby’s alias is Coco, with the occasional use of Coco Puff. “It’s like one of those things where we really didn’t want to announce any official name because we were afraid we’d get too many official opinions,” explains Victoria.

Reluctant to admit that she now finds herself maintaining 45-minute conversations regarding stroller brands with some of her closest friends and fellow moms, Victoria laughs that her previous priorities of keeping up with national news seems to have taken a back burner. “It’s changed, it’s gone from the stock market and what’s going on in the real estate world to the latest baby gadget and what’s the hottest necessity for an infant right now,” shares Victoria, adding, “but it’s fun, I like it.”

When Victoria is ready to make her final decisions and stock up on the many baby gadgets, there will certainly be plenty of room in her newly organized closet! After trouble sleeping at 5 a.m., Victoria found it to be the “perfect time” to sift through her clothes and do a “major Goodwill/Salvation Army donation.” Wrapping up with her own closet, the mom-to-be moved on to her daughter’s room and closet, organizing “things to get rid of, things to make space for her stuff.” One item that will definitely be taking up much of that space, according to Victoria, is her baby girl’s shoes — as her collection is already growing!

“She’s already got three pairs of shoes. I know, funny, right? And I’ve got some dresses and some cute, like, little fun casual clothes. The clothing is great, cause girls are so fun to shop for.”

Motherhood is the 'Most Profound Experience' for Toni Collette

Fame

Many believe that motherhood is a life-changing event and actress Toni Collette would have to agree with that statement! Welcoming daughter Sage Florence last year was “the most profound experience of my life … I don’t even know whether I can articulate that to you,” she reveals in a new interview with The Advocate. It has been such an overwhelming experience for Toni that “I don’t think anything I could say could actually really explain how it feels. Until you become a parent, there’s no real understanding.”

The United States of Tara star has been a hit in the gay community since her turn in Muriel’s Wedding, and was asked by the magazine what her reaction would be if Sage, 13 months, came out when she was older. “I wouldn’t care, as long as she’s happy,” Toni replied.

“Look, life is short, so why limit it? I accept people and their decisions no matter what they are. In fact, I think that’s the biggest problem in the world: People want others to align themselves with their beliefs. If people were more accepting of differences, it would be a much more peaceful planet.”

Toni’s series The United States of Tara has been renewed for a second season on Showtime. Sage’s father is Dave Galafassi.
