Mike Piazza and Wife Expecting Second Child

Paul Emmans/Startraks

Retiring at the age of 39 is something most people can only dream of, and it’s something former New York Mets catcher Mike Piazza says he doesn’t regret. Although he’s since taken up coaching, his new schedule allows him to spend lots of free time with daughter Nicoletta Veronica, 2. Telling the Associated Press he “knew it was time to move on,” Mike, now 40, adds, “I’ve got a baby now.”

“I’m excited to be home and enjoy moments with my kid.”

There are more of those moments on the horizon! While no specifics are provided, Mike’s wife Alicia Rickter is currently expecting the couple’s second child.

It was great seeing all of the pics of him back in Port St. Lucie, even if it was only for an exhibition game with team Italy.
