Coronation Street is certainly booming with babies! Actress Jane Danson, 30, and her husband, actor Robert Beck are the proud parents of a second son. Baby boy Alfie Sam Robert was born Thursday, February 26th weighing 7 lbs, 5 oz. Although rumors were swirling that Jane had been rushed to the hospital, a spokesperson for the show said the reports were completely false.

“Instead, she attended an appointment to induce her pregnancy which had been arranged for a couple of weeks.”

The baby boy joins the couple’s 2 ½-year-old son Harry Alexander Jack. Alfie is the fifth baby from the hit show to be born this month: Wanda Opalinska welcomed son Rafal on February 12th, while Jack P. Shephard welcomed his daughter Nyla Rae a day later on February 13th. On February 11th Alison King delivered Daisy Mae; Sadly on that same day, Alison’s co-star Kym Marsh lost her son Archie Jay Lomas, who was born 18 weeks premature. Other Corrie stars recently welcoming babies or announcing pregnancies include Tina O’Brien and Ryan Thomas, whose daughter Scarlett Jacqueline arrived in October, Andy Whyment, who welcomed son Thomas in October, and Graeme Hawley and wife Elianne, due in June.
