The Jolie-Pitts Take in a Broadway Show

The Little Mermaid on Broadway

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went “Under the Sea” Wednesday night, when they took their kids – Maddox, 7 ½, Pax, 5, Zahara, 4, Shiloh, 2 ½ – to see Broadway’s Disney musical The Little Mermaid.

In order to get everyone inside the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, a security team escorted the family. It’s the second big show for the parents this week: Sunday they were at the Oscars in Hollywood.

Jolie is now in New York to film her new movie Salt, described by Variety as an espionage thriller in which she plays a CIA agent accused of being a Russian spy.

According to some people in the show, they only stayed for act 1 due to some insanity outside, but they were all very pleasant and the children were extremely sweet and well behaved!

I would love to be a fly on the wall of their playtime. I bet Mad is serious about being the eldest, Pax is the daredevil, Zee is a little momma and Shi is chill.

K, that’s something that has always remained consistent no matter where or when I’ve heard it; the kids being well behaved. You can kind of tell from the pictures. I don’t think they’re denied being a kid but are taught rules and respect. Brad seems like he doesn’t go for rude behavior or them running the show. Angie also seems this way too. Good parents. I can’t stand seeing when a child is ruling the road and that is definitely not how our home is run and I doubt it’s in the JP’s either. My littlest one just the other day asked for something in a seriously demanding tone and we got that one corrected asap! Seems some in her school interact this way at home and it’s thought to be cute by those parents but not by me or the teachers.

Oh yeah, JustJared has ton’s of photos (just don’t read the posts lol!)

Little blonde beauty Shiloh is soo precious. She loves the cameras and the cameras loves her. She is very photogenic.

Didn’t Angelina say she would take time off and stop doing movies for a while… I think I read that somewhere

Camille – yes she did say that, and yes she is.

She has averaged less than one film per year over the past few years, so that’s a major slow down. Eventually (at some point in the indeterminate future) she said she plans to stop altogether.

These pictures are cute! It’s very sweet to see Shiloh wearing the same sweater that Zahara wore last week. Maddox is looking so old now! I’m sad to hear they had to leave after one act, K. The kids love Disney movies from what their parents have said so I’m sure they were enjoying it… sad :(

Camille, Angelina has not filmed a movie since November of 2007. If my math is correct, that means “Salt” will be her first movie in 15 months. Sounds to me like she took some time off!! I also think “Salt” is the only movie she will film in 2009.

Camile- I read about it too but I guess it must be awfully hard for her to step off. Anyway I love her in movies so bring them on.

She hasn’t been filming movies over the past months, but between all the awards, travels and PR she’s being doing I wouldn’t dare say Angelina has not been working A LOT lately!
Cute kids and we loved that show by the way!

That’s great they took the kids to see “Under the Sea.” I thought I read someplace where Angie said “Little Mermaid” was one of their favorite Disney movies. It’s too bad they couldn’t stay to enjoy the entire show. Now I understand why Angie says they can’t take the kids to places like Disneyland.

part of the problem of when celebs say they are taking time off is that movies are such a process that oftentimes they really do take time off, like angelina, but the public doesn’t see it. actors sign on to a film awhile before it’s made, then sometimes films are made even a couple of years before they are releassed. so they do have long periods of off-time before the release and few months of press.

F….Award shows and premiers are only a couple of hours a day, and there has been only about ten days that she has actually done promotion. And she really has no choice since ALL studios expect their stars to promote their movies.

Angelina’s statements are always dissected and over analyzed. For the past couple of months she has been saying that she will work for a couple of months on Salt then take time off, she didn’t make some big retirement announcement.

Shiloh cannot look anymore like her Dad, seriously! She’s ALL Brad!

mslewis- Exactly! She’ll also be re-prising her role as Tigress in the Kung Fu Panda sequal this year, but that’s just voice-over work and only takes a few days. Also, when Angie said a few months ago that she’s going to take another year off, she DID clarify that she’ll be filming Salt first!

I also get the impression that when Angie talks about taking time off, she’s referring to filming. She probably doesn’t techincally consider premires, photocalls, press conferences, etc. to be work, and I doubt she sees her charity work as “work”. I think she sees that more as simply doing something that, in her opinion, needs to be done!

i love the people commenting here! here’s one for the brangelina and the oh so cute and couldn’t get any cuter kids!

Angie was off from movie set after shooting Changeling (Dec,2007-Mar,2009)It was 15 months. She told Japanese press that she will be off for 14 months after’Salt’ when she came to Japan. ‘Panda’ will need voice-over sometime in 2010.

But if charity work is considered as a ‘work’, she cannot get out of it. She daily exchanges E-mail with the directer who is directing Maddox Jolie-Pitt Project in Cambodia. This project needs $1 mil each year, total $10 mil (2003-2012). Landmines, desease, poverty, lack of education and lack of industry are the problems of that country.
I think she needs at least &4~5 mil yearly to support several charity causes, she cannot quit from acting. Brad once said that she is working for films to use money for charity. He knows she is not much into making movies. Then he had to persuade her to take ‘Salt’ role. He really admires her talent as an actor.

CelebBabyLover on

I- ITA! In fact, Angie even said that she “Doesn’t like to use the word ‘retire’” and that she doesn’t think she’ll “ever say, ‘I’m NEVER going to work again’”.

Oh, and I can’t believe I forgot to comment on the actual pictures! They’re adorable, and while Shiloh DOES look a lot like Brad, I see some Angie in her in these pictures, too! In one pictures (I don’t know if it’s the one linked above, as that one’s so small it’s hard to tell), Shi is actually picking her nose! Typical almost three-year-old!

I also want to say that Zee Zee’s hair is absolutly gorgeous, and I’m glad she’s not wearing a hood for once in these photos (not that there’s anything wrong with wearing hoods)!

I think it depends on the child and also the musical. If it’s geared towards kids then I see no problem taking a 2-3 yo to see it.

Maha on

I have a small addition Angie will start a movie
called ” The Mercenary: Love and Honor” and it’ll come out
in 2009 but “Salt” 2010 i thought you should know
and the pix are amazing i just love any thing with Angie on it ;)

cassie on

Angie told Dave Karger of Entertainment Weekly that she wasn’t doing that movie . She spoke to him at The Golden Globes. There is no way she could do it after Salt and it still come out in 2009 anyway.
