There’s a new Spice Girl in town! Melanie Chisholm gave birth to a daughter, Scarlet Starr, at 4:10 p.m. on Sunday, February 22nd in London. The baby girl weighed in at 8 lbs., 3 oz, is “beautiful” and “doing fine.”
Scarlet is the first child for Mel C., 35, and her partner of six years, property developer Thomas Starr. The couple announced the pregnancy in September and waited for a delivery surprise.

TACKY! Thats one of my extended families names! (Starr I mean). Most of the family have pretty classic first names and I don’t personally find it tacky…and its not like we made it up, its from the old English “Steer” (I have been told) ie cow so I think we descend from the incredibly glamerous profession of cowherding. Though I do get your point re Scarlet Starr…but maybe Melanie just really really loved the name Scarlet and thought to hell with it, she’s the child of a Spice Girl anyway, if she can’t carry off Scarlet Starr – who can?
