Constance Marie Welcomes Daughter Luna Marie

Actress Constance Marie is a new mom! The former George Lopez star and her fiancé, yoga teacher Kent Katich, welcomed daughter Luna Marie Katich on Thursday, February 5th in Santa Monica, Calif. Luna arrived at 4:12 p.m., weighing in at 8 lbs., 13 oz.

Constance, 43, announced her pregnancy — and the sex of the baby — in September. Deciding to take the parenthood plunge came later in life for Constance, who laughingly shared,

“After 10, 11 years of playing a mom, starting with Selena and then to the George Lopez show, I think I finally decided I wanted to be one in real life!”

Technically they are not married, and don’t plan to actually marry even though they are engaged. The event of the birth of their daughter could change their minds and maybe they’ll marry later.

Luna means “moon” in *both* Italian and Spanish, but given that Constance is Latina, I assume she thought of the Spanish.

OMG!! Luna Marie is my 2 year old’s name! Her father picked Luna and I was never too crazy about it but it grew on me. We got Marie from my middle name. WOW! I am really tickled by this, I’ve never come across another Luna, let alone a Luna Marie lol.
