Son's Birth the 'Greatest Day' of Brandon Flowers' Life
Robert Pitts/Landov |
The Killers’ Brandon Flowers was excited when he found out that his wife Tana was expecting their first child, but it wasn’t until son Ammon was born 19 months ago that he truly felt like he was a part of something special. “It was wonderful attending the birth,” says the singer. “They say a man doesn’t become a father until the baby is born, whereas a woman is a mother as soon as she’s pregnant. I guess that is true.” However, that doesn’t mean he didn’t support Tana during the pregnancy!
“I was sympathetic to my wife and excited about having a baby, but it didn’t hit me until he was born. That was the greatest day of my life.”
Parenthood hasn’t dampened the couple’s alone time together — Brandon makes sure of that. “I know the right time to send flowers. Sometimes it’s not on the calendar and it’s not about Valentine’s Day — it’s knowing when to do it.” However, Brandon’s tip for a romantic evening is “all about getting the baby to bed early. That’s when the romance begins.”
