Two More Coronation Street Stars Welcome Babies

It’s a boy for Coronation Street actress Wanda Opalinska, and a girl for Coronation Street actor Jack P. Shephard! The co-stars celebrated the births of their children less than 24 hours apart on Thursday and Friday, according to the BBC. Wanda’s son Rafal weighed in at 7 lbs., 5 oz when he arrived at 12:39 p.m. yesterday, while Jack’s daughter Nyla Rae arrived at 8:38 a.m. Both babies are said to be doing well.

They are the third and fourth children born to stars of the UK-based soap this week: On Wednesday, Alison King delivered daughter Daisy Mae; Sadly on that same day, Alison’s co-star Kym Marsh lost her son Archie Jay Lomas, who was born 18 weeks premature.

Jack announced girlfriend Lauren Shippey‘s pregnancy in June. Other Corrie stars recently welcoming babies or announcing pregnancies include Tina O’Brien and Ryan Thomas, whose daughter Scarlett Jacqueline arrived in October, Andy Whyment, who welcomed son Thomas in October, Jane Danson, currently expecting her second child and Graeme Hawley and wife Elianne, due in June.

So many babies on set this week for this cast! Congratulations to Wanda and Jack both. I feel horrible for Kym.

Yeah. I am pleased for them all but do feel bad for Kym as not only was these born in the same week but alison king had hers on the same day.
Also, all the scripts and stuff will have to be changed (michelle was meant to be getting a job in the bookys to hid her bump later in the pregnancy like they have with jane dawson), and kym will see herself on corrie still being pregnant as the film a month at least ahead.

It’s unfortunate that such a joyous occasion as the birth of your children also occurs the same week as a dear friends saddest day. My thoughts are with them all and my prayers are with Archie and his family.

Such a bittersweet week on Coronation Street. Congrats to the new mums and dads, but I can’t help but feel desperately awful for Kym Marsh and Jamie Lomas. All this talk of Corrie babies and they won’t ever have their little Archie home with them. I don’t even want to think about how the cast members are feeling either, not knowing whether to celebrate or not. It’s so wonderful that there are three new lovely little babies amongst the cast, it’s just a crying shame there are not four.
