Kelis and Nas Expecting a Baby

Update: Nas confirmed the news Sunday night at the Grammy Awards, saying, “I got another one coming in ’09, yeah!” The couple will discover the sex of the baby very soon, the rapper excitedly told MTV. “I find out what it’s gonna be next week, so I’m happy.”

Originally posted January 14th: Her milkshake may bring all the boys to the yard, but Kelis is ready to visit another kind of yard — the schoolyard! The singer and her husband, rapper Nas, are expecting their first child together, Us Weekly reports. “It’s all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty!” a friend tells the magazine. “They are so excited.”

Kelis is reportedly in her first trimester, yet is sporting a “little bump.” This will be the first child for Kelis, 29, while Nas, 35, is father to a 15-year-old daughter, Destiny. Reps for the couple have yet to confirm the report.

Amber, Nas is well respected within the hip-hop community. I wouldn’t say quite the same about Kelis, even though she is a good singer.
My personal Nas favorite which pumps me up everytime is his collaboration with diddy “do you hate me now”. Awesome rap!
