I’ve been trying hard to eliminate nasty chemicals from my kids’ diets, their sippy cups and even their shampoo. Fortunately so has Elly’s mom, Melissa, who founded Green Elly Skincare. Her line of bath and body products are all free of parabens, SLS, phthalates and fragrances but they somehow manage to smell terrific.
Their cute gift set ($50) includes Twinkle Time Massage Gel, Cutie’s Patootie Paste, Sweet Dream Cream and our favorite, Cuddle Me Clean Wash. The wash comes in both Foaming and Gel formulas ($12). We prefer the foam, with its lavender, chamomile, sweet orange and vanilla oils because it smells wonderful and it’s easy to pump with one hand while the other hand holds Baby. The diaper balm, Cutie’s Patootie Paste is very smooth and light and it absorbs into the skin right away. It contains shea butter so we’re using it on winter elbows, knees and heels, too! If we were pressed to choose a least favorite it’d probably be the massage gel. More than one reviewer compared it to the texture of KY… just a little bit sticky. While Green Elly doesn’t tout its products as tear-free, we haven’t had any complaints from the little guys when using the Cuddle Me Clean products as shampoo and body wash. Those CBB test babies are really dedicated, aren’t they? (Of course I tried it on myself first!)
