Tiger Woods Gearing Up For a 'Hectic Spring'

There was a time when Tiger Woods‘ injury-induced hiatus from the PGA Tour was perceived as a good thing, for it provided the 33-year-old World No. 1 golfer with lots of one-on-one time with wife Elin and their 19-month-old daughter Sam Alexis. It appears as though Tiger has had enough, however! “Early on, I didn’t miss golf because I enjoyed staying home with Elin and Sam and I knew I wasn’t physically able to play,” he writes in his latest newsletter to fans. “The truth is, I would have embarrassed myself. Now, I’m getting my feel and practice back. It’s just a matter of playing more on the course.”
As for when he’ll make his much-anticipated return to the links, Tiger remains non-committal, noting that he currently has more pressing concerns — like the impending birth of his second child! “A lot depends on the baby, which is due pretty soon,” Tiger says. “That takes precedent over anything I do golf-wise.” He adds,
“At this point, especially with the baby coming, I’m taking it tournament-to-tournament. With our new addition, it’s going to be a hectic spring…Elin, Sam and I are very excited for the new baby to arrive, although that’s when the real lack of sleep begins.”
Tiger and Elin were married in 2004. They expect their second child later this month.
