Lucy Lawless' Kids Are Ready for Her to Work

Lucy Lawless knew that the time would come when her kids — Daisy, 20, Julius Robert Bay, 9, and Judah Miro, 6 ½ — wouldn’t need her at home as much at anymore, but she didn’t realize that they would be so vocal about her returning to work! The former Xena: Warrior Princess star signed on for the film Bedtime Stories in part to get out of the house — but she then realized that she “thinks that’s what the kids wanted” also.

“I was in my middle child’s room the other night, irritating him with all these facts about chameleons, and he just asked me to leave the room. And the youngest one has repeatedly begged me to go back to work because he’s quite interested in television and films and thinks I might be able to introduce him to someone famous.”

Now that “my kids are relinquishing me and I’m ready to go back to work,” Lucy cannot wait to sign on for more projects, she reveals. Julius and Judah’s father is Lucy’s husband, film producer Robert Tapert. Daisy’s dad is Garth Lawless.

Bedtime Stories is in theaters now.

Maxine Bahns Pregnant, Expecting Daughter

The Mentalist‘s Maxine Bahns, who plays Simon Baker‘s wife on the CBS drama, is pregnant with her first child, a baby girl. Due at the end of February, “I’m very excited,” the actress shares. “The whole pregnancy has been amazing and I can’t wait to love this baby.”

Having prepped with baby care and breastfeeding classes, Maxine and her husband, professional adventure racer Patrick Watson, have already settled on a name as well: Madison Rose.

“I love the nickname Maddie. And my husband’s mom’s name is Rosemary, so we wanted to honor her by giving our daughter the name Rose.”

“I’m ready to be a mom,” explains Maxine, 37. “I’ve been around the world a few times and I’ve waited a little longer, so this feels like the right time. My husband is the first man I’ve ever met that I truly felt I wanted to have a child with. I can’t wait to meet our baby.”

The Mentalist airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS.

Kate Winslet Says Mia Takes After Both Dad, and Step-Dad

Two happy and healthy children are enough for Kate Winslet. In a new interview with OK!, the 33-year-old actress and mom to Mia Honey, 8, and Joe Alfie, 5, reveals that she has no plans to add to her brood with husband Sam Mendes. “We feel like Mia and Joe are so great and we’re very, very lucky that they’re healthy,” Kate explains. “We’re really happy with the family that we have.” That includes Kate’s ex-husband, and Mia’s dad, Jim Threapleton — whom Kate remains close with. She adds,

“I see the personalities of myself and both of their dads emerging in both of them, and it’s great. In Mia, she has a lot of Sam, too, because he’s really raised her with me. That’s a really amazing thing, which I am surprised by on a daily basis, and it’s really wonderful.”

As she has stated previously, Kate feels that although her job description may be unique ”it’s no more of a challenge” for her to balance career and family “than it is for any working mother.” With her first commitment to the kids, Kate says that the onus is on her to make her own life “work” and her own career “right.” To that end, “it takes a lot of planning,” she admits. “It’s as simple as that…I get up extremely early in the morning.”

Kate’s latest movies, Revolutionary Road and The Reader,  are in theaters now.

Liev Schreiber Marks the End of 'Me Time'

Calling self-exploration “one of the luxuries of being an actor,” Liev Schreiber has made no secret of his love for the craft. Fatherhood has trumped career for the 41-year-old actor, however, since welcoming sons Samuel Kai, 4-weeks and Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, 17 ½-months. “Remember that voyage of self-exploration I was talking so fondly about just then?” he says with a laugh in a new interview with the Times Online. “Well it just ends. You go, ‘Awhh sh-t! No more me time!’” Liev goes on to admit that the rigor of caring for two kids under the age of two with partner Naomi Watts has indeed taken a toll.

“I am struggling, though. It’s f-cking hard. So little sleep. It’s 23 hours and 59 minutes of exhaustion.”

Fortunately, Sasha and Samuel know just how to keep their sleepy parents going. “They do one little thing in that last minute that is just so compelling and fascinating that it makes the other 23 hours and 59 minutes worthwhile,” Liev says.

Liev’s new movie Defiance is in theaters January 16th.

Lance Armstrong Takes a Training Break

Lance Armstrong takes a cozy break from his cycling training to cuddle with expectant girlfriend Anna Hansen on Thursday in Hawaii. The couple announced the pregnancy in December, sharing that their baby is due in June.

This will be Anna’s first child and Lance’s fourth. He is already dad to Luke, 9 and twins Isabelle and Grace, 7, from his marriage to Kristin Richards.
